Probably you already know, but just in case it hasn't reached you, then Geocities is being closed by Yahoo. I guess everyone has had time to migrate their pages to other hosting providers, but I wonder how many people have been left high and dry. AOL did the same thing some time ago.

The big companies are dropping out but a ton of others are taking up the slack. A search on "free hosting services" gives 61,300,000 results.
