Definitely you need to find someone reputable and honest or information that is reputable and honest to help you. If you are not careful, someone will steal your grandfather's idea and market it. You need to copyright it. I know people who invented things and other people weaseled them out of it. Be careful! [This post was restored from an archived backup - DR] |

A clarification: Don't go for a patent now. That is very costly. Instead apply for a patent pending application (lasts for 1 year and costs less than $100). And then pitch your product to companies. While you are negotiating a licensing deal with them, get them to pay the costs it would take to patent the idea to your grand fathers name. In summary: don't apply for a patent yourself. Just the patent pending application that gives you some protection for 1 year. [This post was restored from an archived backup - DR] |

Keep in mind Patents are Not the Be it to End it all if you Know what I mean... :) I regularly see Lots of Specialty Products that have Patents but if you read more on the subject Many of those products are Re-worked and Re-created with just a few Changes into a Fresh New Product... The Global marketplace of Competition will always be out there Watching and Marketing so Learn how to work around it and Do it Better than the Competition... ;) Just like the Many business ideas that we Love “twisting” around into Unique & more interesting ideas... There are Lots of Patent related articles online that touch on some of these Topics so be Aware and Educated... http://www.eagle-research.com/nopatent/patfree.html Phil [This post was restored from an archived backup - DR] |

At Christmas, Hope Shopping Network and QVC always sell tools. If you demonstrate this product on TV, you'll sell thousands. My sister knows a guy in California who invented a product and had it manufactured in China. There are lots of Chinese companies that can produce this product for a very small price.
