Re: Videos for local businesses?
Hi, Marcia - here's how one company is getting its customers to market their products by using video on youtube - http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/product....uct=BOXSPEC001
... I have watched this one, which was spookily funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r-ednYwS0c ... then there's the company whose blender whizzes up iphones, ipods, etc - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qg1ckCkm8YI .... who knows, there might be a company who is prepared to pay for a slick video concept to market themselves on youtube. Re: Videos for local businesses? - YES IT IS POSSIBLE!
You have heard of YouTube?
Can she create videos of employees working for local businesses? Eg. A roofing contractor shows a video of their crew at work, a paving contractor shows how they repair cracks etc. etc. These can be stored on YouTube and displayed on their own websites without using up expensive bandwidth - use YouTube's bandwidth for free! Nothing conveys trust more than having the owner of a business tell you in video how they work and show themselves working. Without YouTube they would have to get a dedicated server/VPS with huge bandwidth allowances but now this is possible for anyone. |
I remember Barb...
Millard,
Thanks for mentioning Barbara Besteni. I remember she Used to have an Excellent discussion forum all about S.I.V. - creating them, marketing them, choosing topics, whatnot. But, to our loss, she closed it down to Move On. I think, SIV (SI-DVD?) is Still a Viable Area to have a discussion board on. Where those with some knowhow and those wanting that knowhow can exchange ideas and information. Because, if you have a camcorder of some description, creating a quick SIV is pretty easy to do - from a simple video log for insurance purposes, a video log of the Condition of something - say for a tenant just moving in and needing a Condition Report - to filming the various exhibits at a Show and onselling that to those who couldn't attend, to filming a business in action. Golf swings. Tennis serves. Kart Racers so they can know where they aren't taking the corners correctly. And so on and so forth. Just like this guy with his Tai Chi stuff http://www.easytaichi.com Michael. |
Re: Videos for local businesses?
Hi Marcia,
Here's three more quick ideas: 1. Offer to add a personal video greeting as a FREE Bonus to the "Coupon Mailing Program" system that Don Alm presented. And, create a special (group) Google map to profile each business, which links to their own youtube or otherwise hosted video. 2. Shoot a number of short videos to compile into a local "Community Preview" type of DVD to offer for sale to prospective new residents in your area. Promote it with text ads for your city on http://www.city-data.com/, on eBay, Craigslist, and elsewhere. (I was recently surprised to see over 2,000 views in just over a month to an answer that I posted on City-data). Also, try to include a number of short local business interviews in your video. And to work out a deal to include it with any Chamber of Commerce welcome kits they distribute to prospective new residents or business. Charging each business to be included. 3. Create your own Co-operative Newspaper Classified or Small Display Advertising Directory for Contractors or Professional Services. With the Bonus or twist of promoting a Free lead-generating web video landing page offer, such as a free report and follow-up auto-responder sequence, or equivalent type of offer. Say a full-page ad like this in your local newspaper costs $5,000 and you sell 20 advertisers on paying $300, your gross profit is $1000. If you try it for three weeks and it tests out, and you lock into a 52-week contract to get that same ad for about $4,000. And, you negotiate a 15% agency discount to get the price down to about $3,400. You could conceivably gross $2,600 a week! Good luck, Rod |
Re: that's dumb
think about these dumb ideas:
Know those cars for sale that are on side of road? Go film them, note tag num/mileage other plus/minus on cars, contact info Sell dvd or internet access Package it as say Ohio's Road Side Cars For Sale It's a hidden supply that most car buyers can't tap in a big way without your service Monthly/weekly subscription for updates might work |
