Have you seen "The Secret"
Hi my name is Krystal and I just wanted to share something with you all. Some of you might already be familar with the secret, but for those who have not, i highly recommend it. It will make you view life as we live it in a new light!
I was introduced to it a few monthes ago and i watch the video on a daily basis. You can visit the website at www.thesecret.tv and view the 2hr movie for $5. Or if you are familar with torrents you can download it from the pirate bay or some other torrent site. The basis of the movie talks about the power of manifestation through our thoughts and that basically we can have the EXACT life we want, we just have to place an order with the universe! it's called the law of attraction! And thats just the tip of the iceberg, it shows you how to improve every aspect of your life, if you dont check this out, you are really missing out! Hope you enjoy it! Here is another little secret, (Removed by moderator) |
Re: Have you seen "The Secret"
I'd highly recommend seeing The Secret if you haven't already. The Secret came as the full length feature on one of the Spiritual Cinema Circle DVD's. BTW, if anyone wants good, family safe, and very meaningful cinema to watch, The Spiritual Cinema Circle is a great place to get them. I get nothing out of this except the satisfaction of sharing with you but you can find out more info at l-800-280-8290 if you're interested.
Though manifesting isn't new by any means, the mainstreaming of the concepts are and thusly it's reaching an entirely new audience. An audience, by the way, that really NEEDS to hear/see the message, generally speaking. If we could unite people through understanding and using manifesting, wars wouldn't have a purpose because the purported need for them would disappear. How's that for food for thought? Sandi Bowman |
Re: Have you seen "The Secret"
Actually, Sandi..
It appears that "Krystal" has posted in order to plug her URL. :) We all know "The Secret" has been around for quite some time. Wouldn't be at all surprised if this post didn't show up on quite a few other forums before the evening is over. Pete |
Re: Have you seen "The Secret"
Thanks, Pete. I guess I'm just too trusting and don't look for the crapola. In fact, I didn't even read the entire post.
I wanted to tell folks about the Cinema Circle thing because it really is great for family viewing. Didn't want to encourage a board spammer. Sorry! Now you know why I refuse to do moderating any more. I don't like being in a negative enough (or skeptical enough) frame of mind to do it. Sandi Bowman |

Re: Have you seen "The Secret"
I'm one of the very few people who thought The Secret was -- well -- quite rubbish.
You can't attract parking spaces. You can't attract a million dollars at Vegas. You can't attract disasters. Thought helps you in planning. Thought helps you in focusing. Thoughts are your brain's filters for various emotions. But thoughts don't act as magnets and manifest everything. Most people have no idea how thought and action are warped up. a. Do you smile because you are happy? b. Or do you become happy because you smiled? Scientists have found that both work. If you are angry, look into a mirror and pull up the two end points of your lips - into a smile. And your anger will recede. Thought & Action go hand-in-hand. And there is no magic involved. |
Re: Have you seen "The Secret"
Hi, Ankesh,
While I respect you and your opinions, I am having trouble believing that you could read or watch The Secret and still not really understand. It's all about the interconnectedness of things and life. Who do you suppose is causing trees a mile or more away to show signs of distress when other trees are being cut down? Their roots don't touch. They don't physically feel the earth reverb that far away. What tells a mother rabbit isolated by 240 miles of land and sea and in a submerged submarine that her babies are in mortal danger so she gets very agitated and stressed? As for humans, how do you explain advanced knowing of events that haven't even taken place yet? Manifesting a parking space not possible? Ask my husband...I do it all the time unless I'm too stressed out for other reasons. Actually, I just use some remote viewing and anticipatory sensing and it works like a charm. Is that cheating or just making use of all one's thoughts and faculties? Sort of a chicken and egg thing, isn't it? I believe you meant wrapped up, not warped up? You're right that most people don't have any idea about the interaction of the physical and mental. Even those of us who seem to, have a lot to learn. In answer to your question about smiling and happiness, both versions are correct. If you smile, whether you feel like it or not, endorphins are released which lift your spirit and makes the smile genuine, usually within 20 seconds to 20 minutes. Smiling and happiness appear to 'go together' to one degree or another. We are highly integrated beings...unlike the Chimpanzee who smiles because he's been taught to on signal or in specific situations. I do believe that some of the claims being made for manifesting are yet to be verified but that does not make the entire thing B.S. any more than an (as yet) unsolved mathematical equation makes math B.S. I would also tend to agree that the WAY the entire Secret thing was presented was a bit over the top but that goes hand in hand with bucks and baloney in movie making or even book promotion. Anyway, I know manifesting works because I've experienced it but not the way most folks think of it. BTW, you CAN bring about disaster, on a personal level, through giving emphasis and 'power' (for lack of a better word) to the negatives in your life. I've seen that, too. You worry about something enough and it will most likely happen to some degree. Now, who can say it would or would not have anyway? I don't have all the answers either...but the process is indeed intriguing. Sandi Bowman |
Re: Have you seen "The Secret"
Thanks Sandi.
I kind of simplified my last post to amplify its meaning. I'll try again. 2 things I didn't like about The Secret: 1. Their mis-use of quantum science theories. They are using it merely to justify their cause - to make people believe that new-age science supports their theory. Thats not quite actually true. 2. They claim that everything - good or bad - arises from thought. Apparent flaw: why are some children born handicapped? There can't be thought involved in that. Can a person think his way to winning the lottery? No. But everyone who has won the lottery did hope and think that they would win it. That statement shows the fault in the manifestation theory. Every thought doesn't lead to manifestation. But many (maybe all?) acts have thoughts behind them. -- There is a difference between connectivity and manifestation. For eg: how do sharks find prey in deep waters where its so dark that they can't see anything? This was a big mystery - until scientists found out that sharks have one more sense than humans - they can sense minute levels of electricity. And when any muscle moves, it does generate an electric current. Even when sharks can't see in dark waters, they can sense the electric current when other fishes swim. Not sure about trees - but there might be such a sense working for them too. Another eg - I recently read about ants. No one gives orders in an ant colony. Yet each ant knows what it has to do on any given day. And every ants functions change depending on the situation - some day they'll go food hunting, next day they'll build their nests etc. How do they know what to do when no one gives the order? http://www.stanford.edu/dept/news/pr...15Arc3062.html There is something going on that we aren't aware of. There is connectivity there - just like there is connectivity in trees. Just like there is connectivity in people too. Many twins can "feel" when the other one is in an accident. This has been documented. But how do they get this feeling? No one knows it yet. One twin can feel when its counter part is in an accident. But can one twin think and save the other one from the accident? That is the question you should try to answer. My thinking leads me to the conclusion that the answer is No. And that is why I didn't like the Secret. Disclosure: I never claim that positive thinking is worthless. There is power in it. Its just not magical or manifestative - in my humble opinion. |
HATED it....
I'll admit, I only made it through about half of the movie.
I thought it was a bunch of unproven, hyped-up nonsense. I see "manifestation" and the "law of attraction" as two totally different things. I'm a firm believer that whatever our minds can conceive and believe, that we can achieve. But it has nothing whatsoever to do with any outside forces that we have no control over. Winning the lottery? Getting the perfect parking space? Nope - not gonna happen. When things like that do happen, it has nothing to do with "the law of attraction" and everything to do with luck or coincidence. Everybody that pulls into that parking lot is hoping for the perfect space. If you get it more often than most, it just means that you're luckier more often than most. There is nothing outside of your own person that your thoughts can control. I don't mean to offend anyone here but I think that to believe otherwise is just plain silly. Now, those parts of your life that you CAN control - manifestation can play a HUGE part. An example in my own life.... You may have heard me talk about moving to Hawaii a time or two :-) A few years ago, there were many obstacles standing between me and the Islands, money being one of the biggest. Now, every night when my head hits the pillow, that picture of what my life is supposed to look like becomes crystal clear. I'm talking literally here. I can see it every bit as clear as if I was already there. Not only can I see it, but I can feel the tropical breeze and feel my toes in the sand. The smell and the sound of the early morning North Shore surf is just as vivid. It might be hard to understand for anyone that has never experienced it but all that stuff is so deeply rooted in my subconscious mind that it totally directs and drives everything I do without giving it any conscious thought. The subconscious mind knows that to live in a "cheap" home where I want to live will cost in excess of a million dollars and that my credit is so shot that it will likely require cash to pull it off. In the last couple of years, the money has poured in as a direct result of my efforts driven by the subconscious. A few years ago, Hawaii was nothing more than a dream and a long term goal. Today the money is no longer an issue. (no, I don't have a million in cash - yet :-) There are other obstacles in my path that I'm subconsciously driven to knock down that wouldn't even be issues if Hawaii wasn't in the big picture. My subconscious mind knows that there is no force on this earth that can possibly keep me from living there. At this point it will happen without any conscious effort from me. That's the power of manifestation. But I still can't ever seem to find a good parking space. Go figure? Jim www.AlohaBen.com |
Re: Have you seen "The Secret"
Interesting, Ankesh. To a certain extent I agree with you on most points.
I, too, skimmed a bit in my post because I didn't really want to open up a can of worms by stating my personal theory of things tho' I did allude to it when I stated 'but not as most folks think' in re: manifesting. Some of my experiences lead me to 'know' that there is a type of intelligence behind the universes and their evolvement. It is this 'universal intelligence' that we tap into when people do things that are apparently beyond the normal functioning of humans. A 98# woman picking up a vehicle off her son, for example, or people 'picking up on' knowledge not yet apparent, such as happened with the school cave in or with Lincoln's dreams that, unfortunately, came true. You asked about handicapped children. They are a gift to themselves and others. I believe we are here to both learn lessons needed for our own growth and to help others to progress. Handicapped children are some of our greatest teachers. Through love and suffering they teach others compassion and skills they may need to learn. Some of our most advanced medical discoveries are helping many folks because another's suffering helped along the discoveries. A more pointed question is: why do adults become handicapped? They came into the world whole but they leave a handicapped body behind...why? Well, consider Steve Reeves. He not only taught others how to persist and overcome, he inspired many others to learn how to help others by contributing his intelligence and feedback about various therapies that were tried on him. In a very real sense, he was a test subject and teacher as a result of becoming handicapped. Anyway, this is quite long and would require an encyclopedia to be fairly comprehensive on such topics so I'll quit for now. One more point: we DO learn from things we experience on the internet and marketing arenas, too. Anyone who's been scammed came away more aware, more determined to personally avoid, and help others avoid, scams. Spammers are teaching us...again...to do unto others as we'd like done unto us by causing some of us to suffer at their hands. I'm looking forward to the spammers progressing and going beyond their narrow minded attitudes...with or without their cooperation. Sandi Bowman |

Thanks for your thoughts. Manifesting is a load of bollocks. It's a Something For Nothing mentality. Instead of Promoting such concepts it would be better to promote that the way tog et ahead is Not to expect something for nothing but to Work towards it, in fair trade without coercion. Wars are Not caused by citizens they are caused by Governments. One Gang against another gang. Even within the country this goes on but they are called Lobby Groups. Michael Ross |
The Secret about manifestation is...
1 Attachment(s)
Ah. Controversy.
Opinion. Knowing. Believing. Secrets. Manifestation. How things work. I've attached the Square One Workshops MASTER PICTOGRIGM... this pretty much explains it all. You will see that we travel a life line from our birth to our death. We came into the world with inherited "stuff"...genes, attitudes (which can be changed), physical attributes. Seen on the Pictogrigm by the little people on the left...Birth Mom and Dad, their birth parents...and generations before them. On the far right is the Obituary, the destiny of everyone. I'm prepared to answer questions on the SQ1 MASTER Pictogigm (SQ1M) so ask away...today, I'll discuss MANIFESTATION. The SQ1M shows manifestation by the thoughts (the want, the idea represented by the plus signs, it is something you want to ADD to your life) being projected into the "heavens" AS the person travels toward the GOAL, the small triangle, which is the tip of the Pyramid of Accomplishment (POA)... There is movement TOWARD the want as the thought is held and gathers power...this movement is seen on the POA...movement is activity, or ACTION... but holding steadfast to the THOUGHT is only a part of the manifestation process...the other part is the TIME/ACTIVITY spent on it and as the POA shows (some of you know this, there are at least 7 EXITS from the bottom of the POA to the Top (the MANIFESTATION) ...and it is an adjustment of activity... So, you want to manifest a business...first thing is to know what kind of a business...what does it look like in the real world..the image, or MOLD of the manifestation must be clear and precise... It could simply be: a lawnmowing business that pays the rent. Well to mow lawns, you need a mower or someone with one to do the work...so no matter how hard, how much BELIEF goes into the thought, into the want...into the desire... there has to be ACTION, and that has to be CORRECT activity toward the goal. That is how "controlled" MANIFESTATION takes place. This little picture attached contains a LOT of answers for people...and without magic, secrets or supernatural occurences. OK. Thanks for bringing this up... so many new people have never heard of the SQ1...must I write a book? Perhaps. Gordon Jay Alexander PS. Here is a brief explanation of the SQ1 in general and why it is such a good TOOL to use: http://tinyurl.com/2bgrzu |
Re: Have you seen "The Secret"
Michael, thanks for your opinion. Obviously we disagree, but that's nothing new between us, is it?:D
Gordon, you're on the right track for the most part. My experiences have taught me slightly different interpretations but we're probably enough in agreement to not need the big grin to disagree. As for the supernatural stuff...it isn't super anything...just a matter of learning to use what one has been given. That's all I do...nothing super about it...it is, in fact, totally natural. Children are born with much more capability than they eventually acknowledge because socially unaccepted notions, knowledge, and behaviors are suppressed in them by parents, peers, and circumstances. If there's any secret to all this it is the simple fact that people generally only use 10% or less of their mental capacity...and this makes all the difference in the way life for them, and those they influence, manifests itself. Yes, that is the correct use of the word manifest...that which is, or becomes, apparent. Nothing secret, nothing magical, nothing supernatural. I realize that most of what I write will be misunderstood or misinterpreted by the majority, if not all, but that's one of the hazards of trying to discuss that which people have no, or very little, preparation for. I just accept it and move on. If, eventually in response to an event, a new way of thinking or reacting to something happens in a life, then all have gained for no one is an island unto themselves. The social butterfly or the hermit, and everyone in-between, influence their environment and others either by their presence or absence. Sandi Bowman |
Anecdotal, experiential and reality...why a "man convinced against his will...
is of the same opinion still".
Gordon, you're on the right track for the most part. I take exception to this Sandi, as if there were a "right" track. Allow me to explain. My experiences have taught me slightly different interpretations but we're probably enough in agreement to not need the big grin to disagree. Your EXPERIENCES are just that, YOURS. You own them, and they are what they are. When I did the SQ1, I needed to take my personal experiences out of equation and look for reality...something that applies to everyone everywhere. I KNOW that any person in the world who is tossed off a bridge is going to go DOWN. I KNOW that for a FACT. Although there are those who are on drugs, perhaps, who BELIEVE they can fly...and thus the splat when they hit the ground. As for the supernatural stuff...it isn't super anything...just a matter of learning to use what one has been given. That's all I do... I have no way of knowing what you do Sandi, so I can't comment on it. But the universal FACT, that I know to be true is we are NOT all created equal...perhaps you did come into your life with "gifts" others of us may not have. nothing super about it...it is, in fact, totally natural. Again, I don't know what you are referencing, but I do disagree with the idea that we all have the same "natural" abilities. We don't. Children are born with much more capability than they eventually acknowledge because socially unaccepted notions, knowledge, and behaviors are suppressed in them by parents, peers, and circumstances. All children? How do you measure capability? I do agree that we become products of our environment and the influences of our early childhood, coupled with our innate (read genetic) specifications. . I don't know what socially unaccepted notions are...And are you talking about Western notions? If there's any secret to all this it is the simple fact that people generally only use 10% or less of their mental capacity... How is this a fact? How has this 10% use of mental capacity been shown? There have been very limited studies, extremely biased studies and a lot of speculation and hyperbole on the 10% so called fact...IT isn't a fact, however, I'll give you the idea that MOST of us don't fulfill our full potential, fair enough? and this makes all the difference in the way life for them, and those they influence, manifests itself. I agree not using all you've got makes a difference in a lot of lives, I'd also present the idea that most people are using the best they've got at the time. Yes, that is the correct use of the word manifest...that which is, or becomes, apparent. Nothing secret, nothing magical, nothing supernatural. All life is manifestation Sandi, right? The SQ1 concerns itself with CONTROLLED manifestation...that which becomes apparent by ONE's effort and activity. I realize that most of what I write will be misunderstood or misinterpreted by the majority, if not all, but that's one of the hazards of trying to discuss that which people have no, or very little, preparation for. Are you really trying to have a discussion? It doesn't feel that way to me. But I could be wrong. I'm trying very hard NOT to misunderstand or misinerpret what you are saying...but I'm struggling with what that is. I just accept it and move on. If, eventually in response to an event, a new way of thinking or reacting to something happens in a life, then all have gained for no one is an island unto themselves. Again, this no one is an island isn't a fact or universally accepted truth. There are lots of islands out there. We (the Western World) have pert near made most of Africa an island with our lack of response to events taking place there. And as for new way of thinking or reacting, what has been gained? By whom? The social butterfly or the hermit, and everyone in-between, influence their environment and others either by their presence or absence. How have the millions of starving children in Africa influenced their environment? How have the millions of repressed, poverty stricken people in China influenced their environment? They are all PRESENT and accounted for, and for the most part totally ignored. I'd love to have a discussion with you Sandi regarding this. Are you willing to share what experiences you're referring to? My experiences have taught me that I don't have definitive answers, I don't KNOW...except what I know. Gordon Jay Alexander |

Testimonial on How Photog Used THE SECRET to Attract $10,000
Hi,
Thanks. We're testing this topic right now in 2 different Mastermind Networks. You may Find that focused thoughts (The Secret) seem to Surface new For-Profit ideas. (This happens with me.) Here is a wedding photographer who just Attracted 10K with his Thoughts... I think he was running a non-performing ad. The only change he made was his THINKING. Boom. He made 2 sales. (For us - New *Thinking Plus Action* always has a Quantum Income effect.) =============== =============== Photographer Gets 6 Leads and Attracts 10,000 by Focusing his Thoughts. Good morning Glenn, 2 weeks ago when I started practicing putting my intentions out, I decided that I wanted to sell our two float tanks. I make most of my income as a wedding photographer, but I haven't been shooting (not many people get married during the winter in Chicago) so I'm not bringing in much money right now. Selling the float tanks would inject a nice boost of cash, which is why I focused on that. Within a week I got 6 calls from interested buyers! Compare this to getting maybe 1 email every couple months from a mildly interested person. Two of the people who called are serious and it looks like we're going to conclude the deal within a week. I just woke up 5 minutes ago. Before I got up, I spent a couple minutes thinking about what I really want. I've been feeling very disconnected from people lately, so I decided that I want to induce a change within myself that will result in my being able to connect with people on a deeper level than I normally do. I remembered that I had to return a couple emails so I logged on. I had just received the email I've copied below. It was clear that I had to write you right away when I read the words " Learn the Secrets of How to Connect With People" only 2 minutes after deciding that's what I wanted! Re: Have you seen "The Secret"
"The Secret" is all based on a book called The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles. You need to read this book. For all you Napolean Hill fans expecially. The Science of Getting Rich just blows the doors off TAGR. I don't mean that in a bad since.
It was actually written several years before Mr. Hill even had a thought of TAGR (1910) yet many (several) of the ideas are exactly the same. The defference is The Science of Getting Rich really expands on the concepts and makes it all SO much more concievable and understandable. (By the way, Napolean Hill got his parking spaces too by sending NormHill out in advance. Ref. The Science of Personal Achievement, Nightingale Conant). When you relate what it says to biblical ideas about life, again, it's like putting what you've read for years under a microscope and makes it all so much easier to understand. I'm having trouble putting into words, you just have to read it for yourself and then decide. Now I am an affiliate to this site http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?af=554513 but you need not buy a thing. The book is a free download. Sure, there are products you can purchase. Don't buy a thing, just download your free copy. If moderators wish to delete the link, no problem, you can google "Wallace Wattles, The Science of Getting Rich" and find it there as well. This book can change your life. I am experiencing it as we speak. |
67 Yr Old Customer Witnessed Napoleon Hill Moving Cars w/his Mind
Dear Andy,
Thanks. One of my customers actually attended several of Napoleon Hill's Law of Success Programs. He describes his amazement. Before class he'd stand out in front of the hotel. Suddenly people would come hurrying from different directions. Jump in their cars. ONLY in the front row - mind you. And 8 or 10 of the cars closest to the hotel entrance would drive away. Then Napoleon Hill - in his 80's at the time - would drive up. Park in front and get out. Stroll in to begin class. Kind of amazing that we're not that far away from the time of Napoleon Hill and Andrew Carnegie. The real secret to secret is what I call "The Secrets of the Babylongs" because it goes back that far and they knew well.
It is very strange that many of don't know it. Only Robert Allen and Bob Proctor ever talked about it. Robert Allen did a whole book about it. It is Steams of Income I have a mutual fund, Accounting Practice, shopping cart on the net, and I just start with deal with Avon with a joint venture with a client of mine who operates a beauty Parlor as her other steam of income. I have an association with another accountant with a lose joint venture too. I earn $500 a year from that. For actually just letting use something we both benefit from him using. Isn't that sweet. |
