Where do old, cast-off mascots go when they retire? Now, we've found out!

Have you ever wondered where old company mascots go to when they retire? Is there some old mascot retirement home which they are sent to?

In fact, there is! And now, we've found it online....

There you can see some of the lesser-successful mascots, such as....

The Kraut King - who tried, but failed, to get millions of Americans to eat Sauer Kraut

Deep Sea Dave, the fish who wants you to eat him

and Comfy and Minty, who will tend to your inflamed membranes

I hope you enjoy them! You can visit them all (and help them retire gracefully) at the Orphanage of Cast-Off Mascots.... :)

Re: Another neat collection of advertising characters

Here's another cool link with old advertising mascots. Unfortunately, the website is set up as one big Flash movie, so I can't provide a direct link to the specific part of the site. It's MLT Creative out of Atlanta, Georgia. Wait for the site to load up (sigh), then click on the "Advertising Character Collection" guy in the bottom left. There are four libraries of characters to explore. You can click on advertising characters as they scroll by for a larger view and, in most cases, a capsule description.

Quite frankly, Dien....

Comfy and Minty are frightening me. What membranes of mine are in need of THEIR brand of soothing?! *** I would RATHER not think about it! ****

Retire, Comfy and Minty, Retire!

With Gratitude,
