Junk Removal business
 

I saw a business the other day that looked interesting. I'm sure you have heard of the company called 1-800-got-junk.

A local company has prices about 40% less than the above company.

1) They have a website that ranks highly for keywords ie (junk removal etc.)
2) You can submit orders online or over the phone.
3) Then I suspect they contract the lead to local companies for a fee.

This is a home based business and they operate in several cities and expanding into other countries.

All you need is a website that ranks highly. After that you collect leads and send them to your partner that have the trucks.

Garbage removal is a simple business. All they do is take it to the dump. Many people have old appliances and furniture and no truck that can take it.

Excellent business model and ideas to Apply to Many other business concepts that few are using...

Thanks for all those links.

Let me add... you can always Specialize. And do, say Commercial Junk. Stuff you take away from businesses of all kinds. Be that... office fitout businesses (hey, someone has to remove the debris created during an Office Fitout), businesses in industrial estates (not all have their own commercial waste bin), offices in general (often a clean out has too much stuff for the offce cleaner to manage).

Or just do Garden Waste. From dropping off garden bags or caged trailers for the client to fill themselves, to doing it for the client.

Hmm... Google tells me there's some interesting Problems regarding Catalytic Converters...

Of course Never get into the illegal side of things...

But Bet there's some possible Solutions and Money making business ideas in Catalytic Converters...

Thieves have taken to removing catalytic converters, which help control emissions, from the underside of parked vehicles. The converters contain trace amounts of platinum and rhodium--which go for about $2,054 and $9,278 per ounce, respectively--and can be sold on the black market for a couple hundred dollars each. Here in E. TN, there's a company going great guns calls Junk-Bee-Gone. They've now expanded into offering shredding services.

As far as the catalytic converters go, thought I read that they contained some recyclable materials that were worth some pretty good change.

My Goodness...What happened? I know I was away for a bit but remember some posts of his on the Offline Biz forum and it didn't seem all that long ago. I assumed he was busy with his business. This is really sad to read.
