Want to own Warren Buffett's car? Here's where you can get it!

Check out the auction for Warren Buffett's car here...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=250028604863

(It's an auction for charity...)

I like how the auction states - "Own the car in which the second richest man in the world drives himself to McDonald’s!"

and...

"The car comes with Mr. Buffett’s fabled "Thrifty" license plate..."

:)

Hey Dien,

How did you manage to find this within an hour or so of it being posted?

I sent in the application to be an approved bidder. I'll bid the minimum or slightly over but I'm guessing the thing will go for 100K plus.

Forbes did a report a few months ago about what the richest people in the world drive. Some of them were pretty interesting....

Actually... my brother (Thomas) sent it to me. How he found out I don't know!

Thanks Jim - great article... I thought the part on Ingvar Kamprad (with a net worth of $23 billion) was interesting... Especially how he still takes the bus and uses his pensioners' discount card! (He's the founder of IKEA.)

At least at the end of this auction you get the car!

This auction - starting at $90,000 - is for

Muhammad Ali Cassius Clay Fingernail Clippings -

YUCK! aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

I think my chances of actually winning it are less than 1%. I'll bid the opening price or slightly above because that's about the actual value of the car.

The Warren Buffett factor isn't worth as much to me as it would be to some people.

Had it been JIMMY Buffett's car, that would be a different story.

BTW - I saw an interview recently with Ingvar Kamprad, he's definatly an interesting fellow.

He still drives his 15 year old volvo Wagon and his house is filled with Ikea furniture.

The way he thought of money reminded me a lot of Sam Walton. Both guys I can respect but can't understand their way of thinking.

Apparently, the ultra-rich in question all drive vehicles equivalent to those you'd find in a mix of middle class people (except the Bentley).

I'm still trying to get my mind around the mental differences between these billionaires and the low side milliionaires driving Lambo's all over Southern California.

Well, they finally called me back for the pre-approval process and the bidding was already past what I would have been willing to pay.

Oh well.

Jim
