Strapped for cash? Try this for a relatively fast turnaround....
 

I think a relatively fast way to make money online is through eBay....

A lot of people are strapped for cash at the moment, due to the poor economy. If you really need to, you can sell things on eBay, and you will get your money in 1-2 weeks. (One week for the listing, and I allow myself up to a week to receive payment.)

You can make money faster offline going door-to-door - but online it usually takes time to set things up. So if you have nothing - no web site, no products of your own - this is something you can do.

You can live just by finding stuff to resell on eBay. I found it does take time - particularly for packaging and shipping - but it's doable.

To start with, you can sell things around your house that you don't need. Later, you can buy things to resell - either new items (such as distressed or liquidated stock), or second-hand items, or sell on consignment.

I've found eBay's "sister" site, half.com, to also be a great place to unload my boxes of books (those that I can bear to part with)and make some relatively fast bucks. Each month, I generally get a check for anywhere from $25-45 for books I've listed and sold.

Thanks for sharing that.... I have books, books, and when you've finished looking at my books I still have more books.... I gotta get rid of some of these. :)

I haven't tried selling on half.com - thanks for pointing that out! Another place some people have had success selling books is on Amazon.com - they have a set up so you can sell your second-hand books. If people do a search for a book, the second-hand books show up too (under the "used price" link).

Others sell on eBay - especially if a book has some "collectible" value.

Great ideas.... Why not get rid of some of that household junk, and make some extra cash too.

Other businesses come and go, but buying and selling "chattel" (personal property) never seems to dry up as a source of needed income - it's a fantastic way to make money, either to make a few extra dollars or as an "emergency" source of income when you need it. You probably won't get rich (at least, not without using leverage), but you can make a livable income if you do it seriously.

As for getting rich - Kirk Kerkorian is the richest man in Las Vegas, and he made most of his early fortune in "chatteling". He started by buying and selling cars. Later, he moved on to trading in second-hand planes, including commercial passenger planes. Now, he's worth several BILLION.

But - he used leverage. He has a good credit with his bank, and can borrow millions at a time with just a phone call. Borrowing from a bank is just ONE form of leverage (though it's the one most people think of). There are plenty of other forms - read Michael Ross's The Art of Leverage for the details.

In this case, selling for others on consignment is one way to use leverage on eBay.
