Speaking of Women and Julie Jordan Scott

After her post the other day I asked Julie for her receipt for apple sauce cooked in the crockpot.

It was so easy and delicious! Anyone that likes applesauce, should try it. You will like it and it is so easy.

Thanks Julie.

I also have a receipt to cook your Thanksgiving Turkey in the dishwasher! I've never tried it, but Thanksgiving is just around the corner!

Next I am going to try Gordon's apple pie's

Thanks for the kind words, Richard, and as a few folks have emailed me for the recipe I thought I would post it here, too.

My personal favorite for making the applesauce (beyond the natural yumminess) is for the camaraderie of the apple peeling and the way your kitchen will be FILLED with that apple-y, autumn smell. Here is the recipe for Crock Pot applesauce:

3-1/2 lbs Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored & sliced
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1-1/2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----

In a 3-1/2 quart electric slow cooker, toss together the apples, brown sugar
and lemon juice.
Cover and cook on the HIGH heat setting 3 hours, or until the apples are
very tender.
Mash with a potatoe masher to desired consistency.
Stir in the cinnamon.
Serve warm, at room temperature, or cold

ENJOY!

Julie
