Hi Phil,

Thanks for sharing those thoughts and ideas!

A lemonade stand is a great way for kids to learn a little about how to run a business... I'm a big believer in getting kids to learn entrepreneurial skills early on. The skills you learn help you to lead a successful life - even if you never end up starting your own business.

There are other opportunities for kids as well. For example, when one of my brothers was young, a card game called "Magic: The Gathering" was popular among his friends.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic:_The_Gathering

In that game, some cards are more "valuable" than others. However, you could only buy the card "packs," which had a random selection of cards. What he would do, is buy the card packs, find the rarer, more "valuable" cards, then sell them individually to other kids at school. He'd make more money doing this than he spent for the whole pack - and so he'd turn a profit!

Regarding domain names, as many probably know, there is a new "domain name regime" in town, which could shake up the game quite a bit. ICANN (which overseas domain names) is letting people register for their own "top level domain name." That means that there will be new domain name "endings" - apart from the standard .com, .org, .net, .biz, etc., and also apart from the country domain name endings like .ca (Canada), .uk, (UK) .au (Australia), .mx (Mexico), etc.

That means that Kellogg's cereal could have website like www.frostedflakes.kelloggs (with no .com needed!).

However, the "catch" is... to apply, you need $185,000! So (unfortunately) it will be out of reach of most people...

You can read more about it here...

Best wishes!
