One year ago today, it started. The first big cancellation.

What a long, long tiring exhausting year it has been.

This time last year, Ohio's governor was the first to cancel an event, Arnold Schwarzenegger's annual thing, which attracts 250,000 people in Columbus, OH and that marked the starting gun.

Covid-19 had been in the news for a long month before that, but up until this event, a quiet calm surrounded, aided by misinformation from the White House...but, here we are one year later.

And most of us, will be around from one year from today too. Hopefully.

The pandemic changed our lives. It did bring tragedy, many lay offs, jobs disappearing and a change of how we do things.

It also brought some opportunity, which is peaking as I type.

With Texas going full bore open, and many others will follow, there will be a sense of return to normalcy for many, although, the Covid-19 still has a lot of legs and many more deaths will follow.

But how did it effect/affect YOU? And are you ready for this next year?

I've actually been more productive with work stuff, at the cost of being less active outdoors, my tradeoff has been more or less a loss of good health, but more productivity.

We are supposed to have a 60 degree day this coming week here in Ohio, and I'm sure people will be out and about.

It will be a tease of course, and we'll plummet back to Winter soon enough, but it is a good sign. In April, I'm launching a new off line business to help local businesses get their customers back. Exciting.

And will continue with the many writing projects, which are like a whack a mole game, work on this script, then that one, then back to a play, some poems, all things writing and revising. Hope my fat little fingers hold up, although I'm liking Rev more and more, and that with having Dragon Naturally speaking on board. I think the cost of Rev at a buck a minute is a good deal to get things down, then to revise them.

So sunshine, some warmth, a rough year hopefully behind us, a new year, a new project, More MOOLAH OOLAH coming in for doing less and less.

Only my dental work is the big dark storm cloud on my horizon, dang wisdom teeth, and dang hereditary...soft teeth run in the family and I hate dentists, and nothing is like mouth pain. Having big holes in your jawbone are real pains in the ... well jawbone. Ha!

I am working with someone to revise those projects I still own, to update and revise them and reintroduce them this year because as some wise old guy told me...life is a parade and every few years a whole new trumpet section comes around.

Looking forward to this year with high hopes.

How about you?

Gordon

Hi Gordon,

I'm pretty optimistic!

On the one hand, I feel like my various skills have really really grown over the past year...

On the other hand, I have a very young baby daughter now... and babysitting is taking up some significant time! (Though she is an extremely charming child, maybe I'm biased... :) )

I believe the mood of most people is up right now... And there's optimism in the air for 2021 !

Especially compared to the last 12 months!

Best wishes,

Dien

I know I digress, but...

60 DEGREES?

WHAT???

Is this Fahrenheit or Celsuis?

I thought only tropical climes like Africa had the "exclusive rights" to such high temperature!

Just kiddin'...

Thanks for reminding us of how far we've come.
