Do you have a "brainery" in your neck of the woods?

Do you have something like these:

https://brooklynbrainery.com/courses

And

https://rochesterbrainery.com/

The first has anything, the second more Arts Focused. Still, do you have sometrhing?

We have something similar in the Falls, with both our Art Center, Library and Quirk Cultural Center. The PROBLEM for using the library and muni owned Quirk, is you can't do FOR profit PROGRAMS.

Which is why I think the Brooklyn Brainery may be the ideal model for my new SQ1 Workshops type place.

So next question, anyone a WordPress person, and I'm looking for a good CALENDAR theme/plug-in. Look at those courses at Brooklyn, and I would like a theme which could sort of replicate that.

Thanks

Gordon

I've got some experience with WordPress. I'm using it to build my site. I'm using a page builder (which runs on top of WordPress) called Elementor. It's very versatile. Anyway, I don't know if there's a WordPress theme that would do what you want. There might be. I haven't researched it at all.

I looked at the Brooklyn Brainery site with some web developer tools that are included with FireFox. I couldn't tell for sure if they're using WordPress or not. They might be.

That said, I don't think it would be too hard to emulate their site using WordPress and Elementor.

Thanks Rick, I think they use a Java Script template of some sort.

WordPress has several plug ins, but so far, Events Calendar Pro by Showcase seems the most robust and hands free, but I'm just starting.

I want the software to do the work, not me. So, I'm more willing to invest in a ready solution, where I can remain an idiot and still collect the dough.

Eventually, I'd want the people to book their own courses, and what the software is, is basically my receptionist, money collector, and scheduler. I'm just providing either space or CUSTOMERS, so that is what I'm thinking.

May start with a few low cost, 25 dollar workshops to test the waters. Still thinking about this.

Thanks for your ideas.

GJA

PS Here is an example of a calendar site built on Events Calendar Pro which I like the look of. https://yerbabuenagardens.com/events/

Yes. There are tons of calendar plugins for WP. I just hadn't seen any that looked like what the Brainery was doing but I'm not doing a lot with calendaring right now so I'm not all that familiar with what's out there.

Events Calendar Pro looks similar to what the Brainery is doing based on that site you provided the link to. I see that they also have a free plugin. I couldn't tell if it was similar to Events Calendar Pro or not.

Anyway, interesting direction.

Before I get too far ahead of myself. Some tests.

I too, will sometimes fall in love with my own ideas. Fortunately, I have a lifeline connected to reality, which reels me in, on such occasions. I think the last quarter is TEST, TEST, TEST time.

So, I want to do some WORKSHOPS, low cost, between 25 and 99 dollars.

The emphasis will be mostly on the work I've already done, so there isn't anything new to create, so, I'm seeking ideas.

If you have any of my stuff you like, which or what would you maybe take a 2 to 4 hour workshop on, and what would you like to see, or find out in it?

Thanks for any and all ideas.

Anything I've done all these years is fair game, just spit balling, brain dumping and getting some classes and workshops ready to test.

Maybe, I don't have anything of value?? Or maybe I do.

Help if you are willing.

I've got some of your stuff that goes back to the old, old days. I'm talkin' stuff that predates the original SQ1. Hope I can find it!
