Bill Myers and product creation.
 

Back in 1998 or maybe sooner, I gladly shelled out $1,000.00 bux for membership into Bill Myers IDEA BANK.

I think Bill was one of the smartest guys online (or off), and although he's just retired this year, he's still alive and kicking...so this isn't one of those posts.

I had some of Bill's offline work, early 90's maybe, and always found his writing style clicked with me. I was glad to see him put a little distance between him and some of the other Direct Marketers he hung with back then.

Anyhow, no eulogy here, just a head's up. Go to www.bmyers.com and dive into his archives, now he's given a great gift, access to some of his best work.

Start with CHECKLISTS. Or whatever else you want, there is even an article on the fastest way to make a million bux, some of you might be interested in.

I made a lot of money from using some of his ideas and even software, he was way ahead of his time, especially with video. I hope he enjoys his retirement, and we owe him a big thank you for showing us how it is done without hype, legal problems, snake oil salesmanship...he is one of us good guys.

Thanks for the "heads up" on Bill Myers' (now free) archives!

There's a lot of treasure there to be had, for sure...

I've been a paying member of his website, BMyers.com , off and on over the years...

Was worth the money.

He is without a doubt, a talented guy...

He's made money multiple ways. (As a programmer, I believe he made a ton in the early days of membership websites with MemberGate software, that I think he programmed himself, if I'm not mistaken... He eventually sold it, so he doesn't own that business now...)

One thing I like about his "style" - which anyone who creates products can do - is he makes a product, but also takes you "behind the scenes" on how he makes that product...

So if he shoots an instructional video, which he'll sell as a product... At the same time, he's documenting how he created the video - which can then become another product!

There's a kind of appeal to entrepreneurial "voyeurism" there... People want to know what happens behind the scenes!

(I really should try to do more of that...)

Great role model for info-product creators...
