Don't lie in your copy...
Just got an email that contained this line...
"Price is only $13.57 - less than you'd pay for a cup of java and a blueberry muffin." Even at Starbuck's or some other total-rip-off place, that line is false -- and anyone reading it, knows it. Completely ruins the writer's credibility. -- TW |
Re: Don't lie in your copy...
T.W.,
You're right. I was to receive some free information for signing up for a newsletter today. I received an email with a confirmation link for the newsletter. When I clicked the link I was sent to a sales page. OK, I expected that and didn't have a problem reading the sales material. Sometimes I buy, sometimes I don't. But I could never find a link, in the email or on the site, for the free information. It really made me pretty mad. I did eventually receive an email with a link for the information but it was about an hour later so the opportunity for the marketer making a sale was long gone. It may or may not have been the marketers fault but reading your post made me think about how angry I was when I thought I had been lied to. |
