There aren't any cons, only challenges. As long as you have the mindset to overcome these along the way, your life will be whatever you imagine it could be.

Just Suppose U Lost a Bet & HAD TO write & sell a book in 24 hrs

Hi,

Thanks.

Good question.
A bit general. But that is natural when you start out.

Suppose you wanted to write a book and sell it
Guaranteed in 24hrs or less?

I
DID
Not
want to do that today.

But I lost a bet with a friend. He said, "You LOST the bet. Now either you prove you can write a book and sell it in 24 hrs - or buy me lunch for a week."

I said, "No way. You eat enough for a family of five."

And started writing.

ok.

Here we have a gray area.

I intend to get BIDS in less than 24 hrs.

TRUE - I wrote the sales letter and the 51 page book as fast as I could type.
But the book needs some cleaning up and editing.

So I set it up so I'd have time to get my regular work done.

At the same time as I polish up the book.

Now.

Here is why I'm writing this note to you.

What if you don't have a website.

Suppose You don't know how to use SEO and adwords and google word tools.

And - You don't have time or moolah to go learn it all either.

Gary Halbert taught me this...

You want to find a niche group of buyers - ALREADY SPENDING lots and lots of money to sell your product to.

That is the key.

Find a herd of people all buying stuff and more stuff about or For their Hobby or Sports interest.

Then Re-sell them a book about what they're already buying.

This is a Guaranteed way to sell a book fast.

Thanks,
Glenn Osborn

P.S. - To check up on whether I'm going to win my bet or not....

Glenn, question about your work.

Glenn,

I notice in your eBay listings you offer up some detailed Chapter info. I was wondering if you create the "outline" (or promotion) first...that is, do you create the bullet points for your marketing BEFORE you actually write the book?

I get from this thread, you might do it this way. This is how I created the Chatteling Course, I wrote the promotion first, then made sure the work had everything in it.

Thanks in advance.

Gordon

Re: Pros and cons of on line business ???

Pros: You now have an abundance of web support sites out
there to help you. That why I believe that
"Lack of expertise including computer know how"
is not as much a factor as it has been in the past.
First there are a mutitude of sites to help you create
your domain & web pages. In the past you would need
to understand HTML (web programming language) or hire
an expensive web designer to accomplish this. These sites
let you easily do it for yourself.A couple of examples are:

http://www.godaddy.com
http://www.intuit.com/website-building-software

Next, there are onlne form sites that let you collect
information from your visitors with surveys, contact forms,
employment applications, medical questionnaires, online
product order forms & every type of online form imaginable.
Again, in the past this would require even more technical
knowhow of an even larger outlay of cash. Now it can be done,
on your own, for only a few dollars a month. Examples:

http://www.elbowspace.com
http://www.fospace.com

And finally, ecommerce (selling stuff online) has also been
simplified with sited like:

http://www.cart32.com & http://www.zen-cart.com.

The bottom line is that it is a lot easier for the average Joe
to have a professional online presence and compete with the
big boys.
