Long, Long Time! What are you infomarketers up to?

Hey, Gordon.

Long time, man!

I ran across this forum in an old bookmark and thought I'd check it out.

Good to see you still plugging away.

What are you folks up to in the infomarketing space?

What's working for you? What's change and what hasn't? :)

We are still plugging away.

Marty, great to have you here again. Hope you've done well for yourself. Dien and I keep chugging and plugging along.

Over the years, we go through cycles, where we both get busy with our off line enterprises, we do the minimum here...then remember SowPub and have short bursts of revivals and promotion.

Holding steady at around 1500 visitors a day.

As for info products, I now have over 75 in my "portfolio", and Dien has some very good info which keep on keeping on; his Hidden Business Ideas Newsletter AND the ENTREPRENEUR HOTSHEET are still picking up subscribers.

So, all is well in our little lake of info products.

But we both spend a minimum amount of time here doing it.

I'm working on some scripts, both feature and TV, and find it very interesting.

One thing, new for me, is making and "testing" some POCKET pro PRODUCTS.

Here is a link to one:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/p0rg4w82ik...left.docx?dl=0

I just posted about it in a copywriting group at Facebook, and think these small little info products "might" do well in the real world. Maybe they will, maybe they won't.

But I like to carry a small notebook, full of ideas, and a little booklet (made from one sheet of paper) as sort of a caddy to remind me things I know, but don't always have at my fingertips.

IF you are doing anything with info, maybe we could discuss a JV on the Pocket Pro series? I'm always up for something new, as long as the other guy does all the work, and I still make the moolah...HA!

Good to see you here Marty.

Hi Marty,

Wow, it's been a long time! Thanks for posting... :)

What are you up to nowadays?

Hmm... The past few years, I've done a few different things...

Without boring everyone, I've done consulting work in a few different fields, operated an info-products business, started an export business (which didn't work out as planned), and also started a "fin-tech" startup related to money transfer (which again, hit some snags)... But, it's been an adventure!

My skills, I believe, are just getting better and better... I like to think of them as "entrepreneurial super powers"... I'm hoping to keep improving them, and I work on that as much as I can... :)

Best wishes!

Dien

Hi Gordon,

Lot's to reply to but I'll try to keep it concise...

Life's been interesting. Started a business with a programmer based on a market need I saw. Grossed a half or mil or so but ultimately the business (partnership) didn't work out. Made some mistakes, learned some things, too much to explain here but hopefully wiser from it.

Understand your point about cycles. Cool that you (and Dien) have a nice portfolio of info products. Nice to have those little income streams more on autopilot than those that call for trading "hours for dollars."

(It'd be interesting to hear your "product testing" approach.)

Downloaded the Pocket Pro product you linked to. Interesting...

I like your idea of a possible JV. I need to focus on a product currently in the creation process but would like to discuss a JV after then. Lots of possibilities there.

Looks like you're still in the OH area? I still have family in the southern part of the state.

Thanks for reaching out, Gordon. And thanks for the hard copy of Benjamin Suarez' "7 Steps to Freedom" book you sent me years ago. That still stands out in my memory.

Hi Dien.

I've done a number of things too:

Some online entrepreneurial stuff, affiliate marketing, helping clients drive traffic and to increase their website conversion rates, etc.

Hindsight's 20-20 as they say. Win some, lose some, learn some, etc.

In my entrepreneurial learnings I came across something out of the ordinary, and recommend that you check it out: A book, The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ Demarco. And his companion book, Unscripted.

He takes an uncommon approach, and while I don't endorse everything he teaches, he makes a lot more sense than a lot of the entrepreneurial advice that's out there.

If you check it out, please let me know what you think.
