Help for selling info products (booklets) in Portugal!
 

Hello everyone,

I met this Forum on googling about Ben Suarez 7 steps to freedom and endend on Warrior Forum and found Gordon's replies there and so I arrived at this Forum.

I am in Portugal and I sell successfuly physical products via direct response and I want to start selling information products.

I don't think here in Portugal people feel safe on buying e-books, so the solution is to sell physical printed booklets by mail on C.O.D payment. I sell majority of my physical products on C.O.D payment. Probably 90%.

I trying to sell 3 different booklets but with no success:

• Teach Tricks to Your Cat
• How To Create a Garden With Economical Ideas
• How to Keep and Save on Your Car

My question:

What info niches/products you will test to sell ? I see there is an virgin area here to sell booklets via direct response. If there is anyone doing it probably is doing it poorly.

How do you know in terms of info products people are spending here in Portugal? Common sense and open eyes? Look at bookstores shelfs?

These topics, you know they are selling on Portugal or you are just generalize?

You can't go wrong following Glenn's advice. Here are a couple of sites to look at.

Showing over 11 thousand transactions, at roughly 15 bux each. This might be a good model for you. It is a print on demand business for his info products.

Another thing in addition to the mainstream ideas, the big markets, look for fringe groups too, the "nut jobs"...like those into UFO, Alien, Conspiracy and secret financial...these people prefer hard copy over digital...

And the survivalists, bomb shelter builders. I suggest a Print On Demand model so you don't need any inventory, but can offer a catalog of information.

Also, I would ask how you plan to advertise? I would advise you to add a sheet catalog, a one piece of paper to all your orders you send out, and give your customers a chance to weigh in on what they want. And a web site, or even an eBay store like the one I linked to, could be useful.

Take note of the many cookbooks he offers as well as all the mystical, magical, other stuff...and he also does the jewelry thing too. Feel free to ask more questions, we're here to help if we can.

Esoteric stuff I wouldn't sell.

But i understand your recommendation to see the business model, thanks.

Anyway, I think here in Portugal people are resistant buyers. I know Reader's Digest magazine sells books through mail here.

I plan to advertise on Facebook . I advertised on FB and Google and got more visitors on Facebook.

By the way one question: on selling info is really almost obligatory to do lead generation? I am not doing lead generation, i just advertise to a sales letter to buy now via C.O.D.

I ask this because I sell jewlery online and is a direct sell, I don't see any need to do lead generation to sell jewelry.

I don't believe e-books sell here, yet to my market. Maybe to young techie savyy kids e-books sell well. People here, in my opinion, are more resistant and conservative, that's why I don't know what info i should try to sell.

NO, as to the obligatory lead gen. Info publishers like scoopified.net (I get their catalog in the mail) and toolsforfreedom.com (get this catalog in the mail too) don't do lead gen.

Very general rule of thumb, under 50 bux, sell direct, over 50 or a bigger backend, list and lead gen. Check your supermarket checkouts, are there any booklets selling there? Also check libraries.

Cookbooks, tips booklets, how to stuff are good for booklets.

Somewhere in the archives, maybe 15 years ago, I wrote about starting a business in response to a question. IF I were starting over, what would be the business? I, of course, wrote about the NPGS Formula, which is from Ben Suarez and has the four parts:

PRODUCT, PROSPECT, MEDIA AND PROMOTION.

There is a formula which says they all have to be 10's, and you've given an example with the college student and his TESTING to get to the 10 on Product.

But, anyone reading this, jewelry is as Evergreen a market as there is. And with our recent discussions here, I would focus on "health" jewelry, copper bracelets, Anti RF waves (Earrings would be good).

And the Lindenwold Brand of SCI has been a cash cow for Ben Suarez for decades.
