House Painting Business
 

I am searching for a good reference, or "how-to" guide on how to start a painting business. Has anyone here been in such a business, or know where I can find good info? I need to know how to estimate how much paint needs to be used for a job, plus how to charge, among other details. I can do a Google search as well as the next guy. If you mention a particular web site, or book I hope you have some experience with it, or know someone who has.

I bet if you visit the DYI network's website you can find the info on how to figure coverage. Of course, they won't have any of the rest of the info you need, but it would be a good place to start.

Googling for what you're Searching for brings up a Ton of "Who Knows if the information is any Good and/or worth purchasing. :)

Here's some Free research advice to get all of the information you need, mostly for Free...

Study and Learn from the industry, experts and associations from within the Painting industry.

Use state wide directories that have 1000's of listings of Professionals in the Trade and personally call as may as you want to in different states.

You'll find that most will Freely give you all kinds of Help and Free information if you Honestly explain, as you're not competition and people generally Love to Talk about similar interests and business. :)

And Talking about Trades and business in general...

Make sure you Subscribe to Trade magazines within each industry of interest.

Following the above will get you some of the Best information whatever Niche or business you have interest in. ;)
