John Carlton's blog entry on the passing of Gary Halbert...

John Carlton - another great direct response copywriter in his own right - was also a good personal friend and colleague of Gary Halbert's...

No matter what you think of the guy, you can't deny that he was an "ace" at his game, which was direct-response copywriting... and one of those at the top of that particular game...

The shear amount of money Gary made for other people is just incredible.

I'm sure Gordon will pipe in at some point and hopefully share some of his thoughts of Gary H.

But just in Gordon's neck of the woods in that part of Ohio, the amount of influence Gary had on direct marketers is just astonishing really.

Rest in peace Gary... an my apoligies to Michael

Gary Halbert was a living legend and will remain larger than life.
He will be missed by all us students of the masters.

I didn't believe Michaels announcement of Gary's death was true
but I stand corrected. Sorry for doubting your reporting Michael.

I'm going to print out everything I can find that Gary wrote and
follow his advice of rewriting his letters out by hand.

God Bless You Gary... May you rest in peace

He will be missed but he gave the world the best ads that will long be remembered. I have many in my collect plus some of his seminars. I will not give them away for a million dollars or even a billion dollars.

I hope his son Boron takes over. He taught him everything he knew about copywriting. Some of the others sons took over Cossman's son is doing a good job with his dad's stuff. And Clyde Bedel son is doing ok with his stuff. I will miss His great newsletters. FREE at his site. He would always email you when He had a new one up. Bye my friend. See you soon.
