Hi Linda,

Sounds like a great idea!

There are a couple of ways you can set up a WordPress blog... One way is on their website, so your website will be something like lindasblog.wordpress.com ...

Here is an example I found at random...

http://philscarblog.wordpress.com

The second way is to host the blog on your own website...

The absolute easiest way I've found to do that is if you have a web host which has something called "Fantastico." If your web host has that, then it's virtually a "push button" installation. You just choose to install WordPress, push the right button on the Fantastico software (which is already built into your website), and off you go! (Well, it's been a while since I did it, but it was something like that!)

So, if you wanted to install it on your own website, if it is an option, try to choose a web host which has Fantastico built in...

Best wishes,

Dien

Re: wordpress blog

If Softaculous is an option with your web hosting provider, I'd set up my blog using it rather than Fantastico.

The reason is that Softaculos adds some security features "behind the scenes" that Fantastico didn't the last time I checked (my web hosting provider stopped using Fantastico some time ago so I can't state with certainty that their system has been updated).

And with the latest version of WordPress, unless you have an extremely good reason not to, I strongly recommend that you set it up so that it automatically installs updates. This can save you from security issues down the road (and an expensive cleanup after a security breach).

HTH,
Tom
