Gendered ice-cream outrage!
 

A gelateria (read: ice cream store) in my city with a bit of a cult following created two new flavors of ice-cream... One for men, and another for women...

The men's flavor is salted caramel with milk chocolate and malt crumb. The women's flavor is strawberry rose with white choc and raspberry dust.

It's created outrage!

Why can't women eat the more "rugged" salted caramel one? Why don't men get the more "dainty" strawberry rose?

The store has since apologized profusely for the "offence"...

But, you know what? I bet sales went up as a result of the controversy!

What do you think? Is this truly outrageous? Or is it political correctness gone mad?

Well, I for one probably would never chose the strawberry one - whereas salted caramel etc sounds delicious!

I also bet that sales skyrocketed as a result of a slick bit of marketing :)

Hi Margaret,

I think so too!

Personally, I love chocolate... milk chocolate over white chocolate... So I would probably choose the salted caramel, purely for the chocolate content and nothing else... Though I'm sure strawberry rose is also delicious! :)

I'm not sure where you're located... Where I'm at, it costs the same for a man or a woman to join a gym. (I think to do otherwise would be illegal here.)

Are the men's and women's gyms completely separate where you are? Do they have different equipment?
