My Mis Adventures with MasterClass and why I think they suck.
 

First: I did get my money's worth from the last year as a Member, took classes I thought would help. So, I have no issues with the instructors, good stuff.

My mistake, was signing up on Auto Repeat Pay, and they claim they sent a notice to me about the renewal. Whether they did or not, I don't know. But when I got the first ding on my card, I immediately tried to cancel it.

Instead, they dinged the card 3 times, and now, a couple of people later (all via email, they don't talk on the phone)...they have taken my money and locked me out.

Testing my patience, which is now at zero, this is the first of several posts here and on all my social media telling how much I think MasterClass the company and their customer service reps...

SUCK!

I had to cancel the card, now have to deal with BANK customer service (why do they even call it customer service anymore??????)

Anyhow, I did tell the so called customer service at MasterClass I would be talking trash about them online, so I want to keep my promise (threat??) and this serves the purpose, initial shot across the bow.

BOOM MasterClass customer service. BOOM.

PS Best lesson I got from MasterClass? DON'T SIGN UP with auto renewal for anything by the year...too much time to forget you did.

Took me a While - but I Found a Problem with The INFO In MasterClass.

Each CELEBRITY.

(And that is what they are selling - STAR POWER.)

Each Celeb is told to ENTERTAIN.

Keep Things moving fast.

Break info into Bite Size "Lessons"

MY IDEA was to Try and Find SPECIFIC and DETAILED STORIES and INFO - I Could Write about in My Ezine. And Put In Sales Letters.

To That End - I watched 30 or 40 CELEBRITY PROGRAMS - 3, 4, 5 Lessons DEEP.

(AS We Say Out in the Country -
I Was GRAZING for the Good Stuff.)

Figuring IF THEY Don't Put the GOOD STUFF Up-Front
People Like Myself Would RUN AWAY.

Took me a While.

NEVER FOUND the "Good Stuff."

But STEVE MARTIN Was The Guy who made ME QUIT WATCHING - All The STARS on MASTER-CLASS.

A - I Read His book.

B - I watched His YouTube Interviews.

C - THEN I watched his "LESSONS" on "MasterClass."

Steve Introduced Himself.

Explained his Plan to teach viewers How to Be Funny.

Had A table full of Folks who wanted to Learn to do Stand-Up-Comedy.

BUT...

Steve's Book and YouTube Interviews Told How He TESTED his Stand-Up-Jokes.

RE-INVENTED COMEDY.

Decided He Couldn't TELL if a Joke was Funny if he Left a PAUSE at the End. BECAUSE THE AUDIENCE was EXPECTED to LAUGH.

So He QUIT Leaving PAUSES.

Listened for LAUGHTER to Build up in INDIVIDUAL AUDIENCE MEMBERS
UNTIL It EXPLODED Like when You Over-Fill a Balloon.

STEVE'S GOAL?

To HEAR Individuals in The Audience GUFFAW. Not Together. Not all at once. But Separately.

Like Specific Kernals of PopCorn over a Fire.

I WOULD HAVE LOVED To LEARN - MORE DETAILS - ABOUT HOW HE DOES THIS.

TOO
COMPLEX
FOR
"MASTER-CLASS."

So I quit watching - ALL of The CELEBS.

Only watched 50 or 60 "LESSONS"

JUST MY OPINION.

But not Worth The 199.00 they charge now.

P.S. - AND Whoever Shot The Videos - PERFECT and CLEAR as a Bell.

Sound and Picture Quality.

BUT FOR ME - They Turned Exciting People - into BORING Professor Types.

I feel I got the value from it, however...
 

Yes, it was needle in haystack searching for useful info.

But, it they hadn't triple dinged me, and said they gave a refund, then I might still be a member. They got my 192 dollars, and I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS, which by now, I don't want anyhow.

I would however, pay the full 250 for YOUR MasterClass Glenn. That would be entertaining and educational.

Going to test ASTRAL ARM POINT ... help with ideas?

I feel inspired. I want to test the Astral Arm Point.

One idea. Have folks give me a name, and maybe location of friend, family or business person they haven't had contact in a long time...at least a year.

I will send my Astral body to this person, point at them, and hold a sign to call/contact ______ and we'll see if that target does indeed respond to the Arm Point on the Astral plane. I imagine it would get a lot of interest, eh?

What other tests can I design to confirm my "presence" in their sub-conscious mind via Astral Projection?

I have STOPPED CARS - in The Road.

Knocked Clerks over in the Store.

Practiced The ARM POINT at the Entrance to Grocery and From My Car Window
to Inside Fast Food Cashiers - Watched Them Stagger and Trip and Drop Stuff.

But Had Not Thunk Up an ASTRAL ARM POINT.

Ok.

I've been tempted to sign up for MasterClass, and haven't done so yet... Some of those promotional videos sure look tempting...

But if I do, I'll be sure to avoid the auto repeat pay option, if I'm able to do so...

Or, make sure I set up multiple reminders to myself to cancel when it ends!

(I sometimes set up appointment reminders using Google Calendar... I usually set it to remind myself via email, sometimes with multiple emails over a couple of days, because I regularly check my email...)

Valuable feedback, especially for those (like me) who haven't signed up...

Steve Martin is an undeniable comedy genius...

Is he the first stand-up comedian to have filled sports stadiums (in the 1970s)?

I suspect he is...

I've listened to his stand-up comedy records (from the late 1970s and early 1980s) many, many times...!

(Back when I was an undergraduate student, I did a weekly comedy show on my university's student radio station, where I'd play 1 hour of comedy, both songs and stand-up... I was seriously considering trying to get into radio as a career, back in those days...)

Never was quite a fan of Steve Martin's song, "King Tut"... But I loved his stand-up... and his banjo-playing too! :)
