More Food Surprises on Youtube
As I mentioned before, there are a lot of folks watching food videos on Youtube.
One video got my attention. The video is not exceptional, but the results surprised me. The video was a German made video that had German instructions printed on the screen during the video. The video had English subtitles explaining the German text. The video was a simple one showing a close up of ingredients going into a bowl to make a cake, mixing, stirring, pouring, etc. It was 8 minutes long. The title was (from memory) "The cake my husband asks me to bake three times a week". This SIMPLE video in ONE WEEK had 7.4 million views!!! With a simple figure of $5000 per million views, that is $35,000 !!! I have no idea how this video was promoted, shared, or mentioned, but that is serious money. The only other videos that pull that many views are cat videos. This should get people thinking about Youtube to make extra coin, if you've got the time. |
Is this the one?
Hi Millard,
I did some sleuthing... Is this the video? At the time I'm writing, this video has 8.4 million views... and YouTube says it was uploaded just 7 days ago! My husband asks to cook this cake 3 times a week! 😋The tastiest cake! #244 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dvsn_Z_LEqA (It probably added 1 million views since you saw it!) YouTube allows channels to hide their number of subscribers nowadays, which this channel has done, so we don't know exactly how many subscribers they have... Thanks for pointing this out! I had no idea a simple recipe video could get so many views! (Thanksgiving may have helped, but it's still unbelievable!) Best wishes, :) Dien Quote:

Yes... this is the video. Just got to find out how this was promoted. :) The more I look, the more high view videos I find. I am going to do more investigating. :) |
Cracking the secret code...
Hi Millard,
I have some ideas too... But I need to do more investigating to see if my idea is right...! Cracking this secret code could be very profitable...! Best wishes, Dien Quote:

Even More Surprises
After logging into Youtube on my TV, I saw a video that was just a simple cafe interior with snow falling and a fire going in a fireplace.
It was a video to create a mood. There is a whole boatload of these videos. One of the videos has a black screen with rainstorm sounds, thunder, and has hit 82 MILLION views !!! And I thought cat videos were the videos with the highest numbers ! |
A couple weird yet popular video niches...!
Hi Millard,
One of life's pleasures is letting the mind drift, while you feel comfortable... Maybe with a fireplace video on! Many many years ago - before YouTube - I wrote an article about doing business creating these relaxing videos... (For the Great Ideas Letter, a precursor to my current newsletter...) Back in the day, the idea was to video relaxing scenes - like the ocean, or a babbling brook - and sell the video on DVDs... But now - after YouTube - there are millions of these kind of videos... How do you cut through the crowd? I think you'd need to find a niche, where there is still interest, but less competition... I'm not in this business, but with a little thinking... People apparently love to watch videos of dogs playing... Some of them have millions of views... For example, here's a compilation video with almost 2.5 million views... Cutest Puppies Playing Around 2017 | Funny Pet Videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FReibAoQaRA But look at this one... TOP 10 Beagle Dog Parties Ft. Louie & Marie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmnaI3TGtBo This is a video just of Beagles! And it has 6.6 million views (since Jan 2021)... What of other specific dog breeds? I bet lovers of specific breeds, would love to watch dogs just of that breed playing... Labrodor retrievers, French bulldogs, German shepherds, Poodles, Daschunds, and so on... If I were to go into this, I'd probably try go in a direction like that... and try to find niche markets, where I'd expect there'd still be demand, but less competition... I'd definitely look to build a website and an email list, and sell more things to the dog lovers too... (or cat lovers... or bunny rabbit lovers... or hamster lovers...) By the way, look at "Louie the Beagle's" most popular videos... https://www.youtube.com/c/LouieTheBe...rt=p&flow=grid People seem to love videos of dogs being pranked! This video has 109 million views! Funny Dogs vs Scary Jigsaw Prank https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AK-lNLIabuY Wow!!! Best wishes, Dien Quote:
