The hit Japanese candy... that tastes like nothing!

In Japan, people are missing a candy that went off the market...

...that tastes like nothing!

The name was "Flavorless (?) Candy" (with the question mark)!

Japanese were all wearing masks during the pandemic... A company came out with the candy that tastes like nothing for a purpose. Wearing a mask all the time can dry your mouth out... so they put out the flavorless candy to moisten your mouth, without getting a sugar rush...

Now, it's off the market. And many Japanese miss it!

This is a unique product... They created a new product by taking something away - the flavor - rather than adding something new as more usually happens!

You can read more about the flavorless candy below!

Can you imagine the tagline?

Flavorless? Candy: because nothing tastes like this!

Curious, Dien: how do you find all these interesting stories? Just from Google?

Hi Unpinkpanther,

Don't tell anyone... I'll let you in on the secret! :)

It's from legendary copywriter, Denny Hatch...

I keep a personal archive of interesting articles I find!

For example, that article on flavorless candy... I actually saved it back in August... I just looked through my archive to find it...

I was inspired by Denny Hatch...

He had a lot of articles at Target Marketing Magazine (which I think he used to run). The magazine was bought by AdWeek a couple of years ago... and they took all the archived articles down...

Fortunately, some of them were preserved by archive.org!

Here's the article which inspired me... (Luckily I was able to find it, archived!)

One Secret for Advancing Your Career: Create a private archive, then exploit it
https://web.archive.org/web/20190827...it-401863/all/

I use Instapaper to save the articles (Pocket is a similar service)... I categorize the different articles into different folders...

Shhhhh... keep it secret, okay? :)

Best wishes!

Dien
