Red food dye made from insects?
 

Hi Glenn,

I watched the whole video!

I know many restaurants are suffering right now... The prices of ingredients have gone up, which forces them to raise the prices of their food... Which causes customers to buy less, because they're suffering too!

The owner of a restaurant I go to occasionally recently told my wife she may have to close her restaurant permanently, for these reasons...

The idea of eating insects disgust us... Some say red M&Ms are dyed with carmine, a red food dye which comes from crushing a particular insect. My investigation shows that this is the case in Europe, while in the US, M&Ms use an artificial food dye called Red 40. They don't use Red 40 in Europe, because the Europeans consider Red 40 to be too toxic! They consider the insect red dye to be healthier! (Red 40 is made out of petroleum... blechh!)

However, keep in mind that according to the Gospel of Matthew, John the Baptist lived on locusts and honey... (A locust is like a grasshopper, and is an insect.)

So there you go!

I'm personally not opposed to eating insects, but I haven't done so deliberately! (I'm sure somewhere along the line I've had carmine, though, and probably most of us have at some point without knowing it!)
