Bombs away. Cause I have a "prepper's" mindset; pdf farming.

Well, this is about the few emails I rec'd overnight. Wanting to know if I had any thoughts on Iran bombing, what it means for us avg. folk, what would a prepper do, or a good boyscout?

Prepare for the worst, expect the best and carry on.

As for pdf farming, the "new" idea; using AI to create content, targeted to redditt group think, and VIOLA instant cash.

Well, INFORMATION is always going to be a commodity, so learning how to make it pay is not a bad idea, but so is selling tools to the miners. Watch for a spike in all things prepper starting immediately.

As for what happens next, your guess is as good as mine, but I'm not packing up the sub and headed toward New Zeland, at least not yet.

The downtown and suburban prepper...different needs than rural folk.

Rural guys like Glenn Osborn prepare differently, they have access to things like wood for fires, and more land to work with.

What do we "downtown" preppers do? And suburban ones, sort of split the difference.

First thing is, we don't announce ourselves. Don't know of any who put up a sign, prepper lives here.

So stealth mode mostly. And awareness. Today, with temps HIGH across the country, AC is in full blast mode, mark this; brownouts are on their way.

Maybe not for long periods, although flooding and tornados knock out power for weeks even...but a generator is a nice thing to have. I keep dozens of fresh batteries on hand, candles and lighters/matches. We lost power last month for several hours, but my little led flashlights lit up the place, no need to fire up generator.

WATER is a big concern, and most of us have canned or packaged food available.

I mention AC because heat waves like this one tax the grid, and that may be the most vulnerable thing we don't need attacked or disrupted.

A PLAN and of course, having a COMMUNITY of like minded friends who can and will work together if it comes to that is always a blessing.

Now if you live in a big coastal city, a go bag might be handy, and a full tank of gas in the car along with a route out of town.

Older sowpubbers may remember my other forum, on doom and gloom and prepping...I have a lot of content from those days I might have AI update and reoffer to a new crowd.

Being an opportunist in times of uncertainty could be a fast lane to big profits, why sit on the sidelines?

Where you live is important

One thing that is a factor is not only whether you live "downtown" or rural, but what part of the country.

As in Glenn's case with power outages, flooding, etc., I live in the Ozarks where almost every winter we get ice with our snow. For some folks, no problem... like when I lived near Chicago.... streets were cleared all the time. But in the Ozarks.... there are hills, hills, and MORE hills ! So even an inch or two of snow will close the schools down because the driving is just too tricky.

In any case, most folks here already have a "prepper" mindset. We ALWAYS try to be ready for some freaky weather (forgot to mention the tornado season).

So, we grew up learning to adapt to craziness with weather and preparedness.
