The Science of Getting Rich

Hello,

Has anyone here ever heard of Wallace D. Wattles and the book he wrote

in 1910 "The Science of Getting Rich"? It is an OUTSTANDING book

along the lines of Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" but even better in

my opinion.

Following is an URL where the book is online in it's entirety for free viewing:

http://website.lineone.net/~cornerstone/rich.htm

There is NOTHING sold at this site nor is it my site. I just recently

discovered this book that was written by a man who seems to have slipped

through the cracks of history and wanted to share it with people who are

interested in attaining monetary abundance.

Wallace D. Wattles haven't slipped through the cracks of history...

...Moreover, Bob Proctor built his courses and seminars around "The Science of Getting Rich" with full credit and respect.
(Great example of doing well by doing good to a book in public domain and memory of it's author).

What follows is the descriptions of Bob's system.
(I am not posting any links here. The one who is interested WILL find Proctor's course.)

Respectfully,

Simon
---------Start Bob's description----

The Science of Getting Rich Income Acceleration System
This program is based on ancient principles

contained in an incredible book written by Wallace D. Wattles almost

-------Bob Proctor is reintroducing

the wisdom of Wallace D. Wattles to the world. After studying The

Science of Getting Rich for over a quarter century he has

developed a complete wealth creation program based on the contents of this book. Proctor has become one of the world leaders in the

area of personal development. After working with Lloyd Conant &

Earl Nightingale in the late 60's and early 70's, he started his own

human resource company. Bob Proctor has written numerous personal development programs and taught them from Asia to America.
LITTLE GREEN BOOK
"In 1969 I was sitting in Lloyd

Conant's kitchen. Lloyd told me someone gave him a "Little

Green Book." He went on to explain that he read and re-read it

all weekend. Lloyd said he was so enlightened and inspired by what

he read that he made a decision to build a world class corporation.

I personally feel the Nightingale-Conant Corporation stands today as

a monument to Lloyd Conant's decision and the wisdom he gained from The Science of Getting Rich. Lloyd gave me a copy of "The

Little Green Book." Its contents have served as a foundation

for every course of instruction I have ever written; courses that

have helped corporations worldwide improve their sales by hundreds

of millions of dollars."
Bob Proctor
The

Science of Getting Rich has served as a foundation for all of Bob Proctor's programs from You Were Born Rich to Your Mission in Commission, Goal Achiever, and A Winner's Image. This new

ground-breaking premiere production will propel you into untold

riches when you apply its lawful techniques to your life.
Now you can shower your mind with the same

core concepts that Bob Proctor has studied for years.
This program is powerful! It will supersede any other program you have used in the past - it will alleviate any confusion you might have had in the past about money. You will understand why many ignorant people become wealthy, while some brilliant people remain

poor. When you complete this program, you will have a deep

understanding of exactly how to attract money in abundance and how

to receive the riches you deserve. You will feel moved in all areas

of your being - mental, physical, emotional and spiritual.

Re: Wallace D. Wattles haven't slipped through the cracks of history...

Maybe "Slipped through the cracks of history" was not the best way to phrase it. I was aware that it was Wattles work that inspired Lloyd Conant and Bob Proctor, it's just that he is not as well known to the public at large as say someone like Napoleon Hill, but should be in my opinion.

The RIGHT beliefs about money, and the consequences of having the wrong beliefs........

Hi Henry,

Thanks for posting that link to The Science of Getting Rich!

I haven't read through the whole book yet, but I agree with its premise, which is

"THERE is a Science of getting rich, and it is an exact science, like algebra or arithmetic. There are certain laws which govern the process of acquiring riches; once these laws are learned and obeyed by any man, he will get rich with mathematical certainty."

And I agree that the right mental attitude is the cornerstone to any kind of success....

Desiring riches can be a good thing; in my mind, it's how you got your wealth, and also what you do with it once you've got it which is the most important thing.

Maybe you've met certain kinds of people, Henry, which I'm going to describe.... I mention this type of person not to put them down, but just as an observation to watch out for.

There's a certain group of people who often use certain phrases when they talk.... Phrases like, "The only way to get rich is by ripping people off." This is a statement based on a false premise!

I think there are two basic consequences of this WRONG belief....

Firstly, this kind of belief could stop a moral person from working towards having wealth, because they think the only way to do it is immorally (which is a wrong belief). So they'll end up with money problems which they find difficult to solve....

The second kind of consequence is an immoral person will believe this and act on it, and go on to try to take advantage of people! This kind of person may have monetary success for a while, but it's often temporary -- in the end they often have legal troubles and will either lose their money or could even end up in jail.

An alternative view is that you CAN make money morally, by HELPING OTHERS. Or as Gordon Alexander says, by using the principle of "WIN/WIN/WIN" -- you win, your customers win, and those who they deal with will win too. You can help people solve their problems and have a better life!

If you believe you can make money by helping other people, well, that's a big leap on the way to success. :)

Thanks Henry for the site, and for sharing this source of wisdom with us.... :)

Dien,
Yes, people do seem to base their mistaken beliefs about wealth on false premises such as the one you mentioned.
As soon as you get a chance you should read it all the way through. Wattles destroys this false premise and MANY others throughout this excellent book.I can honestly say this is one of the best books I have ever read in my life.

And A Science of Getting Rich Discussion Board......

Hi Everyone!

I agree, this is a great little book, one that I have read and re-read in addition to "Think and Grow Rich". As long as we read and continue to ACT on these classics, we will succeed.

I have enjoyed visiting this discussion board which is maintained by Rebecca Fine. She also publishes an ezine called "The Certain Way" which is based on the teachings of Wattles which I find quite enlightening.

Just thought I would pass this along for people to peruse.

Have the best week of your life!

Re: And A Science of Getting Rich Discussion Board......

Julie,
Yes, Rebecca Fine's site is one of the better ones out there with a PDF download of the book and a very good discussion board on this book.

The reason hers was not the URL I originally posted was that I posted this same message about the book to several different forums and was afraid if I posted a site that had something to sell(Rebecca Fine sells an EXCELLENT audio version of this book) the message would be taken as Spam and taken off the various forums.

But yes.....she does have one of the better sites about this book and I would highly recomend it to anyone who is interested.

You and Your Integrity are Highly Valued, Henry!

Good Morning Again, Henry!

****Thanks for being so thoughtful, Henry. As I said in the headline, your integrity is valuable to not only this forum, it is valuable to the world at large as well.

I am glad to hear you are familiar with Rebecca's work. The board there is quite thought provoking and helpful in integrating Wattle's lessons into one's life and one's thinking.

Thanks again!
