BUT... that would upset the "many people don't want email attachments" crowd...

So...

That way, when people "subscribe" to get the free lesson, the message they receive after their email address has been veryfied could also have a link to the password protected page and the password needed.

No one can stumbled on to it that way. And you've killed two birds with one stone - we can view it and a system is in place for future subscribers.
