Question about folios....
Hi Dien, Gordon and others...
Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary... I found this free information about Folios on the web and would like your comments about this marketing technique... Here is the link: http://www.tuffley.aust.com/knowledge/how_to_write_a_folio_part_1.htm |
Selling booklets as a "front end"....
Hi Sandy!
> Congratulations on your 1 year > anniversary... Thanks! Sandy, I really miss your posts.... :) > I found this free information about Folios > on the web and would like your comments > about > this marketing technique... > Here is the link: > http://www.tuffley.aust.com/knowledge/how_to_write_a_folio_part_1.htm Thanks Sandy, that's an interesting article.... I think that most of the inexpensive folios you can see for sale by mail are introductions to more expensive products.... For example, if I have a book on painting techniques I want to sell, I might first sell a small inexpensive folio or booklet on how to paint. Hopefully, those sales would at least cover the cost of the newspaper or magazine advertisement.... This then gives me a list of names of people who are interested in learning how to paint, and I can mail them directly information on my larger book for sale (probably mailing them at the same time I mail the booklet) . I think I've read somewhere that responses for the second mailing using this technique can be as high as 20% to 40% -- but every promotion will be different. Like Gordon says, though, it seems Jimmy Krug really has a good thing going. He sells his booklets in bulk, which seems to be a good way to do it! - Dien Rice |
