What can be done to prevent email outages?

I couldn't send or receive email for the last two days because of a hardware failure at my ISP. It was out for 36 hours...maybe more.

Finally, this evening I had email service again...but only 19 emails waiting. There should have been many, many more if things were normal. I suspect much email was either lost or bounced during this downtime.

So if you sent me an email and it bounced, or I haven't replied, please try again.

Thanks!

JDB

P.S. What could I do to prevent this from happening again? Yes, I could setup a Hotmail account to tell everyone my regular email addy was down, but they kept saying "just a little longer, and things will be OK again..." And that won't help when my regular email address is the one that is on my websites...Anyone have a good solution?

This David project prompted a "cease and desist" from Goliath Ebay!
