Sometimes, it only takes a word . . .

or two to get people going. I know it certainly worked for me.

In composing my follow-up to Gordon, I wrote what I've probably only articulated half-jokingly - that all I really wanted to do was write.

Gordon said, "So write, already!"

Well, he was a lot more diplomatic than that, but after I read his response, I did exactly what he said.

Mind you, while I work on the suggestions he made, I found that once I'd actually SAID it, and once I began to DO it, without a thought in mind except to write, I haven't stopped. And if fact, my writing quickly became focused on an idea I had a while ago, and that project is moving along nicely. Honestly, I started writing at about 8:00am this morning, and when I finally 'took a break' it was 4:00 pm. (Thank God for Oprah!)

I've also got a theme for the website I'm working on.

I hope this gives encouragement to some others who might be lurking, and not acting on their true desires.

Between doing this and reading Spiritual Marketing daily, I believe I'm going where I want to.

Thanks, all.

Reaching your goals....

Hi Mary,

It sounds like things are going well.... :)

I personally have a principle I live by with everything I try to do. That is, I try NOT to stand still or go backwards.... If I am closer today to my goal than I was yesterday, then I am happy. And my aim is to be even closer to my goal tomorrow, than I was today. If I can look back and see that, every day, and every month, I am getting closer to my goals, then I am happy that I am at least going in the right direction!

I know many people sometimes feel frustrated that they may not have reached their goals in a few days or months, and then they may give up.... They give up on their dream too soon!

Instead, I like to focus on the process, and make sure that I am constantly getting further along on my journey, always getting closer to my goal. I know that if I do this, then I will pretty much always end up reaching my goal, and won't give up out of impatience.

Getting closer to your goal can mean many things.... It could mean you have increased your knowledge, so you now know what NOT to do. It could mean you've improved important skills you need to know. It could mean that you've made more important new contacts. Getting closer to your goal could mean all these things, so even learning from your failures could mean you are getting closer to your goal.

MOST people, I believe, actually "fail" because they give up, and that's why they don't reach their intended destination. But if you make sure that each day you are gradually getting closer, and heading in the right direction, then you can feel assured that you will reach there eventually!

It's kind of like that saying (from Lao Tzu, I think), "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." As long as you are making each step, and each step is bringing you closer to your goal, then you know that you will reach your goal in the end!

Thanks for sharing your encouragement with us, Mary! :)

Re: Reaching your goals....

Thank you Dien,

Yes, things are going well. Now mind you, there's a creditor or two who's worried, but they'll be ok. They just don't know it, yet.

I have been reading and re-reading spiritual Marketing, as well as filling my *self* with other spirit-affirming knowledge. I've had to carry 'the script' around with me daily. It works.

Ideas are flowing, and one in particular, is very attractive, fun, and easy to do. It can be lucrative, but I'll need a little *seed* capital. To that end, I've looked at my "stuff" with a different eye - closets full of clothing I don't wear - parts and pieces of PCs I havent put together, etc. A lot of stuff has *For Sale* written on it in an ink that wasn't visible to my cloudy mind.

Yes, things are going quite well, today.

Mary
