Has anyone heard of services that offer to actually get subscribers for your newsletter, in exchange for a per subscriber fee ? If you go to http://www.worldwidelists.com, you can bid a minimum of $0.15 per subscriber and get as many as you want. I was just going to do this, but, then the last step asked me to send a fax to them with my credit card number on it, authorizing them to charge my card up to a specific amount per month.

Anyone else tried this service or something like it ?

There may be some services that are worthwhile, but not this one. Save your time and your money.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the response I am getting from a free subscriber program that involves putting a line of script on your site, enabling a popup window for free subscriptions. For every popup your site shows, you get 4 exposures in return, for the newsletter you are offering.

It's free, and if you don't mind the pop-up window idea (you can see it in action at my website below, as soon as you leave the site)email me and I'll give you more info. Just take the words "NOSPAM" out of my email addy.

I just found out about a program called Hitpulse. It was referred to me by Ricky Higgs. You don't have to put anything on your website. You get credits by making them your homepage and just opening your browser, instead of the normal ISP homepage. It's outstanding.
