VISTA OS quirk?

Has anybody heard or had this problem ?

"What I believed happened is VISTA OS Stripped out the redirect code for your affiliate code and sent me to the default web page.

The default webpage may load other affiliates randomly..."

The customer ordered from my affiliate link but was redirected to another link. No hanky panky going on as far as I can tell just a quirk of VISTA operating system. Am I right about this?

Skip...

I don't know the answer...

But if anyone's interested in the VISTA OS...

Some Quick links and sites that may have the info,
and where you can ask more questions...

I've generally heard Good, Bad etc. etc....

As per the Usual Microsoft Love out there. :)

Haven't heard the Vista OS doing such a thing. But have heard of spywares that remove your affiliate ids when someone clicks on them - and uses their own affiliate ids instead.

Mostly - these spywares only focus on the bigger affiliate networks: clickbank, cj, linkshare, amazon.

And usually - the buyer isn't even aware of the spyware on his computer... maybe there is a spyware on this person's computer - but he doesn't know it and so is blaming the OS.

You should ask him to run a software like Ad Aware to clean his computer.

Thank you Ankesh,

I have sent an email to the customer and await reply. That sounds more like what happened then the OS stripping the URL. But you never know until you ask around. :) Thanks for the info. I use Ad Aware all the time and never gave it a thought. :)

As far as I can tell this only happened to this person. My numbers are about the same for this promo as I expected.

In fact a little higher. It is a great product.

Best of success,

Thanks Phil,

You may not know the answer but you sure know how to help someone find the answer. :)

Thanks for the links. Looks like the big problem with VISTA is installing it.

Best of success,
