The REAL cost of PLR ebooks...
I don't know if it's just me or if others feel the same way but I find that, when ebooks are released as PLR and people start selling them all over the internet under different titles, I won't buy ANY of them because I don't want dupes and, worse yet, to pay for dupes.
If they didn't allow people to change the title of the ebooks, then it would make it a lot more likely that many folks would purchase that now hesitate to do so. With the original title, at least we could search our drives and see if we already have it. When they change the title, it's a LOT tougher, and sometimes just flat out impossible, to know without purchasing. Got lucky today when I recognized the sales pitch on a 'new' release just today. I had seen the identical pitch (word for word...I checked) and a comparison of the pitches, plus a couple of other things, saved me from investing in something I already had. So...the REAL cost of PLR ebooks is fewer sales. When in doubt, don't...isn't just a saying...many folks live by it. Sandi Bowman |

Hi Sandi, I had heard of "Private Label Rights" but wasn't aware of the acronym "PLR" - but thanks to the power of a Google search I figured it out...! (Though all those entries on something called "Public Lending Right" side-tracked me for a while! ;) ) I think if an ebook has an unconditional money-back guarantee, it shouldn't be a problem. I don't think anyone would be too "mad" if someone asked for their money back because they have the book already! Which makes me think also that perhaps a better way to use these "PLR"-type products is to create bonuses - rather than as the main product themselves. I own some "PLR" products which I had planned to use this way (but haven't gotten around to it yet)... Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Sandi! Cheers :) Dien |
