RE: Would you like to learn to earn an extra 300 to 500 a week in your spare time helping others

I think this is a great idea, and one that I would like to follow up on. I am just trying to decided which version of Works to master. I put together my present computer and so do not have a copy of Works on it. The only thing I could find in the store is Works Suite 2002, which I don't think comes with the typical Pc. Works Suite uses MS Word as its word processing software. I am sure the standard program has a much more modest word processor.

Any ideas about this Gordon?

Scanning Seniors

One of the most common areas of confusion I find with helping older people out in the use of computers is the use of scanners.
Often these people have a lifetime of photos they want to archive onto a computer or website. The software that comes with many scanners is less than intuitive, asking questions about what format do you want to save in, default settings that make enormous files, and photo edit/ touch up is another can of worms.

LOL! This 34 year old woman is completely baffled by scanning, too.

But I completely agree that Seniors are an often overlooked audience. We, as a society, seem to hold on to the mindset of older people as being sedentary and crotchety. More and more Seniors are getting out and about and relearning that learning something new can be fun and invigorating.

Thanks for reminding folks of the senior audience.

:)
