Help! "It's Alive" and I don't know what to do with it!
Hi all,
I hate to post this on a public forum (the ego thing) but I have ground to a hault on a project I'm working on. Well, not really the project itself, but the salesletter! I'm desperate here. This is not a promotional post by any means. My new ebook "Google Secrets Exposed" has literally taken on a mind of it's own! It is no longer a book on how to get more and better search positions for your site, but a complete website marketing plan. As you know, SEO, or any other aspect of internet marketing must be interwoven with all the other aspects in order for it to be a truly effective and self sufficient overall plan. In order to get better positions on Google, one of the ranking elements in the algorythm is link popularity. Essentially, the "psychology" behind it is that if other sites link to yours, that's a vote of confidence from their site for yours. The more votes your site has the higher your listing moves up the search results list. But what I've done with the Google Secrets book is get really deep into the psychology thing - to the point where the actual SEO portion of the book has become secondary, almost an afterthought to the overall psychology of internet marketing in general!! That's a good thing...its unusual and a fresh approach... except now what do I concentrate on in the salesletter? It's going to sound ridiculous if I try and say that a search engine "psychology" can create multiple profit streams for your website. And there's also the problem with the fact that I've developed (adapted) several link generating strategies into that "continuous loop" thing. Then there's the split run testing thing - probably the most effective keyword and phrase research technique on the web today. Never seen it used in this manner before but it works incredibly well. How do I go about writing a salesletter that tells people "This Google Psychology thing can create a massive amount of direct and residual highly targeted traffic to any web site and make you lots of money"?? without it sounding like a hyped up, too-good-to-be-true piece of crap?? How do I make it believable when I tell people that they can realistically generate thousands of profitable links and multiple top 10 search positions with the info in this book?? I don't want to shoot myself in the foot by being too close to this project to be able to write the salesletter, but I also am not in the position to pay someone to write the salesletter for me. Help!! Any solid advice that I can use to get that letter online ASAP will rewarded generously! Paul Short GoogleSecrets.com I need something to replace this with! |

Hi Paul:
Try this (read it all the way through) as an introduction... Dear Friend, When I sat down to write this I knew I had a problem... > My new ebook > "Google Secrets Exposed" has > literally taken on a mind of it's own! It is > no longer a book on how to get more and > better search positions for your site, but a > complete website marketing plan. > As you know, SEO, or any other aspect of > internet marketing must be interwoven with > all the other aspects in order for it to be > a truly effective and self sufficient > overall plan. > In order to get better positions on Google, > one of the ranking elements in the algorythm > is link popularity. The more I think about how to tell you about this book without it sounding like hype, the more difficult it seems. So instead of bursting a blood vessle trying to figure it out, let me just tell you about my book in more detail, as best as I can - not being a professional copywriter. I'll leave it to you to decide if it's full of hype or not. |
Re: Help! "It's Alive" and I don't know what to do with it!
> Hi Paul?
I would suggest a whole lot of backed off hype...a heap of excitment...and endorsments coming out your ears. It can only help then... to have even more endorsments and then some more. With all this said, I know you feel fantastic about your creation...and you should. Remember, honesty will show thru and hype will make you lose toes. tip...get some folks to read and pick up kind words from them about the book. Ron |
Re: Help! -A novice attempt at Copy...
Listen Can We Talk? I'll make this short and
to the point. I'm so excited about this project. I know it will make you money...but here's the problem: how can I tell you about a tool which I know will make you money and help you to unlock the secrets of SEO without hype? So..I'll admit even though SEO is my specialization, I needed help with this sales letter. I even offered to pay someone to give me an ideas of how to present this offer to you... So...let's cut to the chase and let me tell you what's in this new ebook for you: When I first designed this ebook it was suppose to help you get more and better search positions but it became more than that...It is a COMPLETE WEBSITE marketing plan.... Now this is how it works: In order to get better positions on Google, you must have "link popularity"....knowing this is not the issue but UNDERSTANDING THE PSYCHOLOGY of how Google works is the issue... What it boils down to is this: If other sites link to yours that is a vote of confidence as far as Google is concerned. The more votes your site has the higher your listing moves up the search results list. What I've done with the Google Secrets is to: *get really deep into the psychology of Google *give you the keys to UNDERSTAND the psychology of internet marketing.Once you UNDERSTAND how something work you can become more creative with your goals; you don't need anyone to hold your hand... Google Secrets is a fresh approach to your typical ebook because... * you'll see my secret link loop strategy * you'll understand and unlock the secrets to split/run testing The bottom line: After reading this book you'll: *you'll be able to create massive amounts of direct and residual highly targeted traffic to any website I don't think you need to be a rocket scientist to understand what that means to your pocket book. I know it doesn't sound believable, but you'll be able to : *realistically generate thousands of profitable links and multiple top 10 search engine positions What more could you ask for? |
Your credibility will be easy for potential buyers to test....point this out to them!
If I wanted to buy an ebook on how to get a good ranking on Google.com, I'd have to be convinced that you'd actually achieved what you were writing about.
I'd go to google.com and do searches on keywords relating to google rankings and see if your site comes up on the first page of listings. That'd be the best 'testimonial', IMO. By the way, I went to google.com and searched on these keywords: search engine optimization google ranking google rankings google top 10 Paul Short google secrets google secrets revealed And your site didn't come up, but I'm assuming that's because you're not finished yet. So somewhere in your sales letter you should say something to the effect of, "Want to see I know what I'm talking about? Go to google.com and do a search on "a related keyword of your choice" and you'll see that my site ranks #whatever. " When your site showed up on the first page of listings, only then would I be convinced and ready to buy. Best, Shelley Scam Slam! |
A perfect test!
I can't tell you how many times I've seen stuff on traffic and search engine ranking and I tore apart the HTML and headers and searched on Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc for these terms (as a test) and the "expert"'s site was nowhere to be seen.

Paul,
You know how when you do a Google search, the search is itself an URL? For example, the search for the phrase Paul Short is in the link below. Make a page full of these links, so all people will have to do is click on them to prove that you're in the top 10 for various phrases. This way you get to pick which phrases prove what you want to prove. Hope this was helpful, and I'd love to see a chapter of your book. You have my AOL addy, I believe. Boyd, I tried it & you're right!

Now I understand how to use Google much better. Thanks for the insight. I put “business opportunities list” into Google and my website Business-Opportunities.biz came up #1. That’s news I can use. Thanks, John Henry http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...rtunities+list |
Could use some help
P.S. I need some additional help. (from anyone)
My website is dedicated to offering aspiring entrepreneurs legitimate business opportunities. Currently I have approximately 860 unique listings, but I know there must be hundreds, if not thousands of other fabulous, different business ideas out there, which I’ve yet to discover. Any help you can give me with will be greatly appreciated. Here’s what I need: 1) some basic overview information about each opportunity 2) and the necessary contact data to provide to my visitors. Thanks for your assistance. Business Opportunities |
