I'm going to "think twice"...

...about posting any more of my "discoveries" on these Forums.

I make my living creating "INFORMATION REPORTS", usually after I have personally gone out and tried the program MYSELF...to "get the bugs out".

With my latest "discovery", DECK RENEWAL, I thought I'd "let the cat out of the bag" by posting some info about it...and yes...I DO plan on selling a "Starter Kit".

Again...selling "INFORMATION" is how I earn my living...just as you who are reading this make YOUR living doing what you do.

With the "TONE" set in the posts on my latest "discovery"...it's like "Let's do some checking on "Don's Discovery" and SUBVERT his efforts to make any kind of profit from it.

So some of you people GLEEFULLY go on a hunt and when you discover something about the project YOU actually take pride in posting your info...as if to say; "Here Don! STick this in your ear! THIS Internet thing was made for US people to "get things FREE"....so I'm going to post as much info I can so that maybe my info will prevent DON from earning a living!"

How would YOU people like to have someone trying to undermine YOUR method of earning a living?

"I"...not "Joseph" or "Kyle" or "Dien" or anyone else....ME...Don Alm....places a UNIQUE message here about a New program I'm working on and BAM...out of the woodwork comes YOU people who ACTUALLY ENJOY TRYING TO SEE THAT I DO NOT MAKE ANY PROFIT FROM "MY DISCOVERY"!

As of today...YOU people have "shown your colors"!

I am REALLY going to think twice next time I get a silly urge to post some UNIQUE DISCOVERY on these Boards.

So...folks...go to it! Have fun trying to figure out HOW to market this by yourself and make sure you place as much info as you can....and PLEEZE, give me a BLAST about "ME"...."horrible ME" even thinking about making any money with this.

I guarantee you "Subverters"...the Law of Karma will come around and kick you in the rear!

You won't see many "discoveries" here any more.

Have fun!

What you should do

Hi,

Put 1/6 page ads in Entrepreneur Magazine's "Opportunity Mart."

I'm looking at one right now that says:

"A good honest day's work
(What you put in)

[PICTURE OF A VAN IS SHOWN HERE]

Freedom
Control
Opportunity
(What you get out.)"

[Then there's text about the opportunity, which is a floor covering business of some kind.]

You could sell one of your Jungle Videos from the ad, and then convert them, or use one of your many techniques.

Just my two cents....

Respectfully,

- Boyd

Re: I'm going to "think twice"...

Don,

One of the best things about the Internet is getting as much information on any given subject thinkable.

I visit forums like this to gather as much of that infomation as I can, and when I can I offer information that may be useful to others I post it. If I offer information to this forum or any other forum (whether to my benefit or not) I do it knowing that somewhere in this vast world someone will have what they feel, or know, is a better or cheaper way and they will post it. If people like what I have to offer, they will check it out or possibly purchase the information if I am selling it. If not they will move on.

Granted you have some people that really respect you and your projects you have to offer as money making opportunities. But if someone comes along and has an alternative it is they way you handle it that that makes the difference. If people like your alternative they will stick to yours - if not then just keep trying.

If it were me and I had a lot of projects like you do and I wanted people to focus intently on those projects I would start my own forum. You would have a lot more control over the types of posts that appeared on it.

Good luck.

The Right Decision, Don...

It's pretty unrealistic to post a business idea on a public board and then expect to have exclusive rights to sell anything and everything having to do with that business idea.

The question is: What was your intent in posting the business idea? Was it:

A. To freely share the idea with others on the board?

If so, then (this being a community of people who freely share business ideas) it is not unrealistic to expect others to attempt to contribute to that idea.

At least that's what MY intent was in my post below. I saw a few people trying to make a go of it, and I thought, "Well, by golly, I know something that might help them out."

Apparently, this somehow translated to "Hugh's trying to put me out of business!" in your mind (which, I think all will agree, does work in rather wonderous ways).

The flyers I described in my post worked great for me (and others I know). I simply wanted to share an inexpensive, successful method of advertising, and that's all there was to it.

It's very incorrect to believe that I, or anyone else on this board puts up a post with the sole purpose of depriving Don Alm of the right to make a living. (That's actually quite a stretch.)

Again, Don, what was your intent in posting the business idea? Was it:

B. To sell it to those who frequent the board?

From your post above, "B" seems to have been your intent all along.

Well, if that's the case, then I agree with Boyd. You should ADVERTISE your next business idea, rather than posting it on a public board and crying foul when others attempt to add their two cents to the idea.

Once the cat's out of the bag, it's practically impossible to supress people who want to help others become more successful.

It appears to me, Don, that you made the right decision.

Keep posting, Mr. Alm. Pleeze . . .

Mr. Alm -

While you appear to have your detractors, you are a great source of ideas to some of us (like me) who need to have their minds expanded with unlimited possibilities.

You are living proof that people who strive to get ahead in this world are only limited by their imagination.

Keep sharing, Mr. Alm. And thank you.

Tune the mosquitoes off your radar, or use a post like this to hit the decks a second time. (DNO)
