Why won't Google index our sites????

Hi,

We started submitting our pages to Google three months ago, and as far as I can tell the frikkin googlebot hasn't visited our sites and they don't appear to have been frikkin indexed.

Driving me frikkin nuts!

Best,

- Boyd

Boyd,

I've never submitted my sites to Google, but they always index them toot sweet -- because we are a Google Adwords advertiser.

I've read elsewhere that sites that participate in their Adwords program invariably get listed in Google in record time. Sure seems to work for us.

If you haven't already, open up an account and start a small $5 campaign with some obscure keyword that relates to your site, but which won't get many impressions. Then sit back & watch --

If you're not listed inside a month, I'll eat my hat.

Best Wishes,

Hi Boyd,

Do other sites link to yours? I think Google places a lot of importance on links from other sites....

If other sites link to you, it probably means you'll have a better chance at being listed (as well as possibly a higher ranking).

Re: Why won't Google index our sites????

I didn't get listed at Google until my site got listed in the dmoz directory. Just two days after my site got listed in dmoz it was suddenly at Google too. And I never submitted my site to Google ever, but now my site is in the top twenty for one of my keywords at Google.
A lot of websites use the dmoz directory on their sites too, so I get a fair amount of traffic from those.

So try getting listed at dmoz.org and see what happens. Because dmoz uses people instead of robots/spiders/whatever it may take a while to get listed though.

Also, you might want to go to www.searchenginewatch.com and see if they have an info on getting listed with Google (and other search engines).

Good luck.

Boyd,

Do you feel comfortable with posting the url here? Maybe we can see something that would help.

Aslo have you read through the web master tips for google? I found a lot of great tips there.

You can find it here: http://www.google.com/webmasters/

Hope that helps.
