"Door To Door"
Hi,
I'm very excited to report that the TNT network on July 14 will be showing a new movie about a salesman called "Door To Door." William H. Macy plays the salesman, this is based on an actual person I forgot to say, and he is a door to door salesman with cerebral palsy and a rather strange appearance and slurred speech. The movie's trailer showed door after door being slammed in this poor guy's face, yet through persistence and the help of people who cared about him he finally won Top Salesman for his company. Hard to believe there's going to be an admiring movie about a salesman--about time, I should have said. Best, - Boyd |
Re: "Door To Door"
This is based of a guy from Portland Ore. who needs an hour to get dressed everyday due to his illness and he then needs to ride the bus to a local hotel where a bell hop helps him with some of his buttons.
He sells for Watkins a MLM Co. and he does make a living despite his physical challenges all while maintaining a `great outlook on life. He is a remarkable human being. Old post about this movie character
I believe this is the story about
Bill Porter; you could read about it here. http://www.billporter.com/~icint001/index.html > I'm very excited to report that the TNT > network on July 14 will be showing a new > movie about a salesman called "Door To > Door." > William H. Thanks Boyd! Great story... I think the "secret" (if there is one) is this....
Hi Boyd,
Thanks for posting this.... (Sorry I've been a bit slow in answering here of late.... Michael Ross and I have a new project we've been working on - all will be unveiled next week, or maybe even sooner!) I think one thing this story shows is that probably anybody can be a salesperson, if they have enough tenacity. Everyone who has done sales has been rejected.... But it takes tenacity to keep going from there, and to learn from your successes and failures what works and what doesn't. Also, I've developed an admiration for sales people.... Having done some face to face selling myself for the experience, it has made me an admirer! Many years ago now, I asked Gordon Alexander on one of his old forums, what should I do to become successful in business? (This was before I knew Gordon personally....) Gordon answered my post, and said - Get some face to face selling experience. It took me a couple of years to do it, but having done it, I agree - it was excellent advice! :) - Dien Rice |
