eshowcase anyone?
I'm looking for someone who sells eshowcase in New Zealand or Australia. The Australia site for it has no way of contacting them as their order form page is dead and no email either (great business model!)
I manage private residential properties for overseas owners who usually have 2-6 properties each and need software where I can update photos of their listings and provide very basic text reports at a central site they can visit and access via password. I thought an earlier version or eshowcase might be the way to go as the current version is $11,000. So if you know of someone who sells early versions of eshowcase or if you have any other suggestions I'd appreciate any help. With thanks Tim PS I'm looking for a solution that requires no or very little html knowledge and don't really want to spend more than $3000 NZ/AUST for a license. |

Hi, Tim - I tried to email you directly
but the email bounced.
I'd appreciate you mailing me at [email protected] and I'll reply directly to that. Many thanks Margaret |
Re: eshowcase anyone?
Hi Tim:
I have the exact Eshowcase software you are looking for plus the video tapes of the 2 day seminar given by Bill Myers... less than 1/2 new price please email for details Mike B. [email protected] |
Re: eshowcase anyone?
Hi, Mike - while I hate to rain on anyone's parade, my understanding was that reselling eshowcase software might contravene the terms of the license - now, I can't tell you whether or not this has been tested by anyone being pursued through the courts; nor can I say if the software has been successfully transferred to someone else's server once resold. But, in the interests of fairness, I would think you might like to check it out.
That's partly why the eGreyl team decided to allow our software to be resold - the only caveat being that resold software would be supported only if new owners purchased a (modest) support contract from us. Margaret eGreyl Software |
Re: eshowcase anyone?
I just checked my own eshowcase software license and in Paragraph 2.
Description of Other Rights and Limitations - it clearly states Software Transfer - You may not transfer any of your rights under this agreement (including all component parts, the media and printed materials, any upgrades, this agreement and, if applicable, the Certificate of Authenticity), and the recipient agrees to the terms of this agreement. This (and other) concerns were what led to the eGreyl Group being set up in the first place. The other concerns being when Bill Myers sold eshowcase to the current company, the previous owners who had been promised upgrades to eShowcase Version 3 were all left in the lurch. There may be one or two other people who frequent this board who might care to comment further. Margaret (OK, I'm obviously interested in people who might purchase eGreyl software - I am clearly stating that for the record; and it may be that Your version of eshowcase was sold with a different license; if that is so, please accept my apologies.) :-) |
Re: eshowcase anyone?
Hi Tim,
I am selling a full eGreyl licence for USD495. It includes full portal and shop managers. It has been cleared by Brad and Margaret of eGreyl to resell. Contact me by email if interested. Regards Mark p.s You will find eGreyl far superior to eShowcase, and does all the things you want it to. |
Re: eshowcase anyone?
Hi Margaret and Mike:
This is a real mishmash....some people received licences, and some didn't (depended on the reseller). The original license provides for transfer of the software but only with the approval of Bill Myers. Later licenses may be different. Bill also made a post that if one wanted to sell a web site that had esp and the new owner wanted to maintain the esp then the seller would have to purchase a new license for the new owner. As was the case with esp there were some very confusing issues with licenses as well as copyright. Cornell |
Re: eshowcase anyone?
Hi, Cornell - hope you're doing ok! Nice to hear your "voice" again!
I must confess I hadn't realised the variety of licensed/unlicensed versions of eSP - but you have certainly reinforced my view that reselling eshowcase is fraught with potential problems. Margaret |
