Gordon ~

Sorry I couldn't make it up for the 5th - I've had my "hands full" so to speak. Just now getting by here for the first time in a month or so.

Here's an interesting article on how Martha Stewart manages her time.

How Martha Stewart Manages her Time...

Thanks Dan.... This caught my attention....

Hi Dan,

Thanks for linking to that article on Martha Stewart!

One thing in the article leaped out at me.... She said:

I never discard an inspiration. When I travel, I always pack spiral blue notebooks, one for every month. I use them to jot down my thoughts, and I never throw them away.

Richard Branson (the British entrepreneur who created the Virgin empire) does something similar... He keeps notebooks of all his inspirations and ideas too. He saves them, and even has filed away all his notebooks that he took when he was just starting in business over 35 years ago....

A common practice between these two VERY successful entrepreneurs! It seems to be a wise thing to do if you want to be successful.... :)

Martha never discards inspiration?

Did you catch that tip in the article
Dan? I thought this was actually the
best and most underutilized tip...Most
books, booklets articles are a compilation
of tips, quotes, inspirational finds..and
yet many of us spend a lot of time online
and have no easy way to capture what we've learned
here at sowpub or other places we frequent...

But there is a tool invented by one of our
own sowpubers that works beautifully to do
this...It's Michael's "Writer's friend"....and
I'm not sharing this because Michael is a
sowpuber but I'm sharing this because I think
quite frankly he undersold it's potential...

right on your desktop in his software you
are provided with approximate 300 headlines, 1800 phrases, cliches and sayings, 2400 quotes...
And you can add your own favorite inspirational
items to it as well as add more headlines,
phrases, cliches,sayings etc...it rocks!

the program is set up so it's so easy to
copy and paste right from the tool your favorite
things...It's fantastic
