What discussion forums or web sites do you visit?
I always seem to find interesting post by interesting people on this board, (I know it's all relative, interesting to one may not be interesting to another but) I was wondering ... What web sites or discussion forums do folks here (regular posters to this forum) like to visit on a regular basis and for what reason(s)?

Re: Who do you think are the interesting people? [DNO]
Without a doubt, the first to come to mind would be Don Alm. I've seen his post(s) here and elsewhere, and I always consider them a "must read", at least for me. It's not just what he does (all his projects/businesses) that makes him interesting, but also the way he "thinks" and the fact that he's willing to lay it out for all to see and benefit from. To name a few others here I find ineteresting (since you ask)... Marcia Yudkin, Dien Rice, Bilal Babic, Mike McGroarty (visited his website, good stuff), Michael Ross, and hmmmmmm ... there's that one other guy, oh yeah, Boyd Stone, he seems to be a pretty interesting guy too.

Seeing as you asked...

Board Spam and the post in question should be deleted. Take yourself, for example. The accusation leveled at you on the Friends In Buinsess board is correct. Here is HOW we know your messages are Board Spam... 1. Same message to many boards. 2. No participation in any of the board discussions. 3. No "history" at the board - your oldest post here goes back less than one week (September 6). 4. Free email accounts. 5. Extremely short posts with a link to whatever you are pushing. Usually a question and hardly ever a helpful post. 6. When questioned about it the reason given is always something like: "trying to get as many different opinions as possible." There are very few exceptions with legitimate reasons for cross posting on multiple boards. Even so, none of the exceptions fit the six points above. Bilal, the board owners have been online for many many years and have seen and know of all kinds of "tricks" to get around the "No Blatant Ads" rules. If you want to ask a question because you really want to know the answer, then ask WITHOUT leaving a link (the ability to leave a link is a favor granted by the board owner and not your right). If you really want different opinions, ask your question on no more than two boards. Those with enough experience to give you the answer visit many boards and will see your question. And if you respond to this post, the first sign to show us you truly want answers and are not just posting to get a link in is, to post without leaving a link. Michael Ross |
