Here's a common trait of success I've noticed....
If you're going to be a success, you're going to come across people who will say "you can't do that!" - who will think you're crazy to try to start your own business!
However, one common trait of successful entrepreneurs is that, they often don't really care what people in general think of what they're doing. If they think it will work, they go ahead and do it anyway.... I know that all my life, I've often been called "stubborn". Even after people tell me I can't do something, if I want to, I go ahead and do it anyway. Sometimes they're right, but often, they're wrong, and my own belief in myself was right. Maybe it's a kind of "thick skin" - I don't know. But not caring too much about what others think regarding what you're doing seems to be part of the "formula" for success.... I guess you have to be willing to sometimes stand out from the crowd! (Of course, you still have to listen to your customers! It's the "nay-sayers" I'm talking about above....) Just a few thoughts.... :) - Dien Rice |

An excellent book on this topic is "Thick Face, Black Heart" by Chin-Ning Chu.
It is a rough translation of a book that has never been translated or published outside of china called "Thick Black Theory" by Lee Zhong Wu. Thick Face, Black Heart at Amazon.com |

Most successful people say that the worst thing you can do is listen to the advice of a close friend or relative, I interview them every week!
