I am sure many of you subscribe to INC. Magazine. If not, I highly recommend you at least get this month's issue. It is the annual INC 500. The fastest growing small, privately held companies. I find a wealth of information and ideas because everything is right out in the open for you to see. They list sales, growth, profitabliity and web sites for these companies.

As an example, #7 Tastefully Simple, was a small business started by 2 women that created high profit gourmet food and sells it via home parties. $28 MILLION in sales. And they started in 1995!

Another example, #10 Orange GloInternational.They jazzed up the packaging and marketing on cleaning products. They sell OXY-Clean and Orange Glo, 2 products that have been in the cleaning industry for 50 years! They just managed to demonstrate the benefits better and sell the stuff in a different way. $232 MILLION in sales.

These are 500 companies that work in the real world. What a great place to swipe ideas.
