Hiring sales people without trianing your competition
How has anybody here delt with this situation? Hirring someone to do sales for you without them stealing your ideas and competing agianst you.

Here's 2 things I've used...
1) Have them sign a "Non-Compete, Non-Disclosure" Agreement. This, however only "gives you the RIGHT TO SUE!" To sue someone you have to hire an attorney who would like an "up-front" fee of a few thousand....plus on-going hourly charges.
2) Call your Small Claims Division at your County CourtHouse and find out the MAX limit on suing someone in Small Claims Court. (In my County it's $2500) Have the salespeople sign a PROMISSORY NOTE for $2500. By having them SIGN the Note....they are agreeing that they NOW owe you $2500. You can collect on this Note by taking it to your Small Claims Court and ask for a "Judgement" against them based on the SIGNED Promissory Note. Tell them you will tear up the Note upon return of ALL your Sales Materials AND...the passage of 12 months to make sure they do NOT go in competition against you. 2a) Also have the salespeople write you a check for one dollar. If you do have to go to Small Claims court and get an "Instant" Judgement...you can take the Judgement over to their Bank and "Put a BRICK on their account/s". When I first started hiring salespeople (many moons ago) I'd train them and they'd never return my sales materials and some would go off in competition against me. Since implementing the above (many moons ago) the salespeople bring back ALL my stuff...the day they decide to leave. The SIGNED Promissory Note has much POWER! You can get them at your local Office Supply store. Don ALm > How has anybody here delt with this > situation?
