Your favorite low priced hosting company?
Hey, gang...
Who's offering the best low priced hosting right now, that won't run afoul of the SE reverse DNS look up issue? Thanks, Adam. Get your dog to listen to you, anywhere you go... |
Re: Your favorite low priced hosting company?
Pair.com has a variety of rate plans. I use their $5.95/mo plan (which is designed for those who want to host e-bay photos) and you still get a dedicated IP (so no reverse dns problem). I've used this account to host a vendomatic page attached to clickbank. Their rates are here:

Tough to beat at only $9.95!!!
Hi Adam,
The hosting provider I am using is only $9.95 per month and includes almost everything except the kitchen sink. It may just be the right one for you. The Tech Support has always been FANTASTIC when I needed it. (Only twice!) And believe me I needed it only because of my own fat fingers! Nothing that they did! Lesley Fountain also speaks very highly of them as well. Read the fine print and see what you think. Success and Regards... Re: My favorite low priced hosting company?
I use NoMonthlyFees.com. You pay $200 upfront for the first year, then $70 annually. I'm currently in my 3rd year with them.
The annual fee covers your domain name (or a credit if you already have one), 500MB of dedicated space on a server, tracking service, site support, and a lot of tools for the webdesigner. Considering the $70 renewal includes your domain name, it works out to about $5 per month for your actual hosting cost. They have a very good online time percentage. They have also added a monthly pay program for those who don't want to commit to the year long contract. Another advantage of the large dedicated domain is that you can have up to 5 or 6 sub-domains within your 500MB. This is perfect for those who choose to create one or more mini-sites. My website only uses a fraction of the total space, but the rest is mine to use as I need it. You can visit my site and see how many products and pages I have, and it doesn't require one-fifth of the available server space. Oh, I don't know about that,, Mike...
Dixisys.com is offering a complete webhosting package for only $3.95 a month... In fact, that is what they call their site...

$3.95!!!
Running a full-bore hosting service with all the bells and buzzers is quite an undertaking. The way my host provider does it at $9.95 is nothing short of amazing. Originally I hosted a small web site with them only to check them out. Been happy ever since! Now I have CrashCourseMarketing.com with them too.
I cannot imagine how thin the profit margins would be with a company running at only $3.95 a month would be. Or where they're finding room to reduce their costs. It would be intriguing to see a business plan outlining such a venture... and if they remain over the long haul. When were they incorporated, or when did they launch their venture? How long have they been in business so far? Amazing. The venture capital needed to launch such an undertaking as a $3.95 web hosting service must have been large. Can you imagine a banker reviewing the loan papers for such a venture??? Let's see. You're a dot.com'er and you need how much? You're going to host web sites for how much? Yeah let me run it by our Board and I'll go grab the checkbook for you. Would you like a toaster with that? :-) $3.95 huh? Definitely passing right through the being 'cost effective' stage into the realm of "too cheap for me to trust". Success and Regards... Amazing
I really don't understand why people think it is really cool to get the cheapest hosting service, since it is the lifeblood of your company. I want the best and most reliable no matter what I pay. I personally use Lazylizard.net and the Owner Jonathan worked with me and a fellow installing a script until 3 AM to find the problem. Now that is service. I suspect your $3.95 company will soon be out of business.
BTW, Steven I see you spend most all of your day posting on different forums, don't you have any work to do. You seem to want to jump into every thread and give your 2 cents, so what's the deal. Do you actually have a job or do you just post. Dave Roberts |
LazyLizard is a Cadillac!
Quite awhile back I hosted a larger site with LazyLizard and you are correct Dave, Jonathon goes ALL OUT!
If anyone is looking for a premiere host, LazyLizard.net is it. If and when I operate another large site, he will be the one I contact. Jonathin is the Michael Vick of hosting providers. Re: $3.95!!!
Well, Dixisys have been in the hosting business a long time. I guess they know what they are doing.
However the costs of starting a hosting service are pretty low. You can get a colocated server for $100/mth up, or a block of space and a couple of IP's for $5 and up per month. To understand this very cut throat industry, take a look at webhostingtalk.com . A lot of these companies are run by very young people, the place they often fall down is in providing support. It costs a LOT to hand hold someone on their first web site. You can not afford to offer much support for 3.95. If you are technically competent then there is no need to fear cheap hosting, so long as it not on an overloaded server in some kids room with a broadband connection. However, Adam was looking, for seperate IP's I think, which is a different ballgame. As IP's are getting scarce, you will need to pay extra for them. You can ask for a quote on the webhostingtalk forum. As others have pointed out, unduly cutting costs on hosting may cost you dearly in lost sales due to server crashes, slow load times etc. > Running a full-bore hosting service with all > the bells and buzzers is quite an > undertaking.
