Branding and Rebranding eBooks
 

Hi-
I was inspired after reading Terry Dean’s eBook Traffic Virus. Right now I’m about ¾ through writing a free eBook that will appeal to the general public – God knows the Internet Marketing field is crowded enough J The book is geared to the beginning computer and Internet user and will naturally contain a healthy number of affiliate links in it. I also have a killer marketing plan for distribution, but that’s another story.

My question is, how is it that owners of eBooks are willing to allow people to rebrand them – wiping out all of the owner’s affiliate links? In this case, the only benefit to the offer (for the owner of the book) would be in any original products left where a commission would be shared. Are they happy just getting their name out there and a link back to their Website(s)? I realize that for some this could result in substantial traffic – but it doesn’t seem like enough. What am I missing?
