I've read the report...it has some very good ideas along with some templates for some forms you may want to use to set up your business. Jim can be trusted. JDB Local Email Profits |

Re: Local E-mail Markeing
Keith and JDB,
I am not doing email marketing in the sense of the LEM model. When I wrote the ebook (based on the initial idea by Don Alm) I was testing it with a handful of local businesses, writing down my business outline plan as I went along, and expected to get into it further. My day job (tourism director) came along right at that time, and I had to drop LEM along with some other "home based" projects I was working on. I've never said I was doing this on an ongoing basis. The ebook still has some excellent ideas for putting this together, though anyone doing so will most certainly find it needs tweaking to fit their own style and set up. Re: Local E-mail Markeing
I think on paper this sounds good but here is my concern. Why would a business pay me money to gather emails to market to? Check out walmart & Target. They all have there own websites. You can just get on there email lists so they wouldn't need me. They monitor there own sites and send emails to there own lists. ALso, how do you convince someone to give up there email address so that they can be spammed to death??
There is no way i would freely give my email address to a local biz. SO they can bombard me with ads and resell my address to someone else?? Just My thoughts, the Big Dog!!! |
