DO billboard ads work??
I read a report about creating a billboard bulletin board route in my local area. I wanted to know if anyone thought this was a marketable plan. Here is the plan:
Locate areas where I could use a framed board and either hang it or place it on an easel. THe board would be big enough to hold about 50-80 index card sized ads which could be classified advertising or local businesses. I would charge about $20 per month per ad. I would attach the ad to a blank no-line index card. I have been pricing frames and would create a very attractive display. Any suggestions on building this board would help. I figure i could give the business a monthly commission that allows me to keep the board in there store. I don't know if this would generate any ineterest from the local community. I think the price is reasonable and absolutely no one does it where i live at. Actually, I have never seen this done on a professional level But a few of the local grocery stores have boards that giveaway free ads where people can write something and stick it in there display. Its kind of non=professional looking and sloppy but i do see people read the free ads. I sent an email to score and the guy said he didn't think it was a good idea but maybe it would work, he never heard of that type of biz. Does anyone know anything or ever done this type of biz?? THis would totally be different from restroom ads or hotel ads. The customer could provide a color or black and white ad. Anyone have any ideas on how to start this project? Call classifieds in local papers and see if they are interested?? How do i market this idea to businesses and consumers?? Maybe call some local ones and see if they were interested. Score suggested market research by calling around. If anyone thinks this is worth pursuing please give me a yay or nay!!Please HElp!!!!!!! Thanks,Dan |
