Web Sites downed by Aljazeera
 

Several of my websites are off-line as an apparent
result of the Iraqi war. It appears that thousands
of other websites may also be affected.

I have several websites hosted in different places.
I have other domains that are redirected
to sub-directories on these websites.
I use cloaked redirects so that it appears
that they are separate websites.

I use Mydomain.com as my forwarding agent
on most of these forwards. According to
information on their forum, URL forwarding
has been disabled since early this morning.

The report is that an Aljazeera domain has
been forwarded to Mydomain and is causing
the meltdown.

If you use mydomain.com for forwarding, you
are probably already aware of this. If you
were not aware, maybe you should check
your website...it is probably off-line...

I'm doing the same thing but using uncloaked redirects because there was an issue with shopping carts. (Can't remember what that was just now.)

One of my forwarded sites appears fine. I'm getting 404s on the other two. (But then I can't remember if I ever got up any content on those two. I registered them with future development in mind.)

Web Sites back online now...

According to the mydomain forum, sites started
coming back online shortly after midnight...

My sites were up this morning, but still loading
a lot slower than normal. Tonight things seem
to be back to normal-- whatever normal is ;)
